They have confirmed game audio through the controller, so just grab one of these and you should be golden.

edit: weird, am I tired an hallucinating? I kind of mentally swapped the comments you wrote for the opening post, didn't even see that you already linked an adapter. Anyway, any TRRS adapter should be fine, I doubt they'll deviate from the quasi-standard at this point, especially since they're selling phone with TRRS ports already.

Ok, from my understanding, I'm pretty damn sure that Game and Voice is coming out of the jack on the DS4. So using something like [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Exclusives%C2%AE-Headset-3-5mm-Smartphone-Adapter/dp/B00D6NPH88/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2E8S89R4FAKQB&coliid=I3OJLMHORYZ566) should work. Correct me if i'm wrong though.

u/Sqwv · 2 pointsr/PS4

Yeah, if the Vita headset works on the DualShock 4, then it should be the same TRRS jack that is used in all the other smartphones and tablets.

I bought this adapter so I could use my own headphones with a separate microphone. This should work for most headsets out there that use two separate jacks too.

Not sure what you currently have, but I bought an adapter off of amazon pretty cheap that just lets me use my normal PC headset with the controller and it works great to quickly mute when needed using the headset.

There is absolutely no reason to have a wireless headset for the PS4, because the controller has a headset hookup right on it, which works great. Save yourself $75 to $100 and buy a nice wired headset. All you need to hook it up to the controller is something like this:

If the wire sticking out at the bottom of your controller bothers you, you can also pick up this:

Amazon and Monoprice

I think they have had them for a while but just a bit of a pain to find the right search for at times.

You need one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Exclusives%C2%AE-Headset-3-5mm-Smartphone-Adapter/dp/B00D6NPH88/

...and forget all that fancy Schiit, pun intended.

Just plug the headphone into the green jack, the Modmic into the beige jack, and the black jack into the stereo headphone adapter.

Your AKGs aren't high impedance, you really do not need a headphone amp. At 62 Ohms the Xbox Stereo Heatset adapter will drive them just fine.

Can't be sure if it is compatible with your laptop's combo plug but you are looking for something like this, PC Headset to 3.5mm Smartphone Adapter.

I have an old pair of turtle beaches as well, and I was just going to use this to plug mine into the PS4 controller. Until I find another headset I like.

I am using this and it works great with my PC headset. You can choose to send all audio or just chat audio to the headphones as well.

use a DSS/DSS2 with something like this

u/ITK_REPEATEDLY · 1 pointr/redditblack

the biggest issue I see now is I have an extra female end that I have nothing to plug into? So basically:

Controller -> X1 chat adapter

X1 chat adapter -> 3 ring male end 'smartphone adapter'

3 ring female end 'smartphone adapter' -> 2 ring 3.5 mm male

2 ring 3.5mm male -> Tritton

That basically seems to be the path, but I have an extra female on the 'smartphone adapter'?

u/downfalleclipse · 1 pointr/xboxone

Your Ax 720s should disconnect from the volume control box in the cord completely, leaving you with a dual pronged end coming from the headset. Tritton sells this adapter which would work perfectly with the xbox one stereo adapter, however, it is out of stock. Any cable that can fit on that and consolidate the two plugs into one cable would work. Also, the Stereo headset adapter takes a 3 band connection.

Edit: This cable might work as well but I'm not sure if it will attach to the headset or not because of its shape.

u/sparkey182 · 1 pointr/xbox

I would just buy one of these and then get whatever kind you want. I got a PC one that has the red and green jacks and got an adapter.

This way you can use it for other stuff as well. The xbox hardware adapter has good mixing between voice and game volume.

u/trustinbacon · 1 pointr/techsupport

Check to see if you can disable the microphone in the Device Manager.

Secondly, the image you linked looks like a headphone splitter which is meant for two headphone outputs. You need something like this in-order to use the port correctly.

u/comanon · 1 pointr/8bitbourbon

This might work for the ps4 then.
If the xbox uses usb for a mic input then there are 3.5 to usb mic adapters too. It would probably be a mess of cables hanging off his head though.

u/clee290 · 1 pointr/headphones

You may need something like this and then you can get a microphone (like a modmic) with a 3.5mm jack.

u/Jahonk · 1 pointr/3DS

You can get a splitter; your single audio port handles both in and out audio. Something like this will do it. http://www.amazon.com/Exclusives%C2%AE-Headset-3-5mm-Smartphone-Adapter/dp/B00D6NPH88/ref=pd_sim_pc_6

u/e60deluxe · 1 pointr/techsupport

ok so there is a way to get the mic working.

so you can get this which combines two mic and earpiece jacks into one:

http://www.amazon.com/Exclusives%C2%AE-Headset-3-5mm-Smartphone-Adapter/dp/B00D6NPH88/

plug this into the controller.

now you also need this:

http://www.amazon.com/Smartphone-Headset-PC-Adapter-01-PH35-PC35/dp/B008OB2NHA/

this splits the combined jack into two. plug this into your headseat.

now plug the two pink ends together.

now you should have a green female end. use a 3.5mm cable to go into the input of the mixer (or blue jack of the PC for the virtual mixer method)

now plug green male end into a headphone extension cable and then into the output of the mixer (or the PC out for that method)

its a mess of wires....but it will work.

That is the wrong splitter, it is meant for two pairs of headphones (duplicating the signal), not combining sound in/out.

You will need something like this
