John S. Eastwood was known for creating a very interesting kind of dam called the multiple arch dam, seen here, here, and here. His dams are not constructed anymore after a vicious campaign challenged the 'psychology' of its design claiming the public wouldn't have trust in a structure that looked so 'light', 'airy', or 'elegant'. There is one person, Donald C. Jackson, who spent a ridiculous amount of time researching dams and Eastwood to write and coauthor a couple books on Eastwood and the St. Francis Dam Disaster.
