I had this problem when getting into carnivorous plants. They're a bit precious and can't have minerals in their water. I buy deionised water in bulk on Amazon (a 25L jug was £13). It's not distilled, but it is demineralised, so it might do the job for your face. It works a treat on my plants!

I work in a science lab and order this stuff when I need deionised water. Deionised is purer than distilled water.
