That is a Honeywell siren for an alarm system.

It worked better on the iOS 12, since last person leaves does not always work. If you set it manually it works great, and hoping once we are out of beta it will work again. I don’t have a HomePod, but with the ability to play something on HomePod you might be able to use that. I will say the siren is pretty loud and sure gets your attention.

Requires some rewiring into a 12v plug to get it to work.

I made an alarm by using an IOT plug and a horn I bought on amazon. I did have to wire power into the horn so it could plug in.

When any of my doors open when armed, it turns on that plug and the siren goes off. It's loud. Of course if you don;'t want to fuck around, you can use a z-wave siren for about $30.

I just did this, I bought a siren, hooked up directly up to a power supply and plug the power supply into a smart outlet. Works fine. the only trick is to match up the voltage and current requirements of the siren with an appropriate power supply.

The siren was this: Honeywell Wave 2 siren
Takes 12 volts, 500 milliamp. Pretty sure I used this power supply (I've been buying a lot of power supplies lately) DC 12V 3A Power Adapter which was gross overkill (I would have been fine with a 1A) but it was handy, and I might hook up a flashing light too.

The siren does want to be hardwired, but I had a bunch of these power jack adapters so I put a female one on the siren so I could swap power supplies or add an extension easily.
