I would like to chime in on another better method to get AP afk/overnight. The method is 1 AP about every 7.5 seconds but there is a requirement to purchase a ps4 turbo controller to do it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2raCWyqH2Y
The original video above is by a Japanese person and I take no credit for finding this method, just trying it out.

Basically, you will need a ps4 controller that has turbo mode, one like the Hori FPS Plus.
https://www.amazon.com/Horipad-FPS-Plus/dp/B0106XFCPI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481247710&sr=8-1&keywords=hori+ps4

Go do the basic level 5 training at camp.

  1. Hold turbo button and press R1, repeat it for a second time.
  2. Hold turbo button and press triangle, repeat it for a second time.
  3. Hold turbo button and press circle, repeat it for a second time.

What this does is loop the training sequence over again with Noctis warp striking Gladios doing a 1 hit KO. I've tried it and managed to gain 3000+ AP over one night.
A tip from me is to equip all your accessories with strength enhancement if you are unable to defeat him in a single hit.

The Ps4 controller is probably the best controller Sony has ever made (despite the battery life). It won't take long for you to adjust to it, and the shoulder buttons are superior to the Xbox One's.

As for adapters, I don't believe any exist. The PS4 uses Bluetooth technology, while the Xbox uses radio.

EDIT: this looks interesting, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0106XFCPI/ref=s9_hps_ft_g63_i2

you are not

on a level

playing field

If you are using the base dualshock

First link comes with built in turbo. Second link has paddles so you never take your thumb off of the aim or the movement stick in addition to turbo and other things I don't suggest you use. Third link allows for more precise aiming on a thumbstick by increasing the throw of your stick.

I see lots of people complaining about MKB on a console but after watching a video of someone using it just walking around - it looks like a pain in the ass. I understand you will have much more precise aiming and recoil control, but turning looks like balls.

I have this and absolutely love it. No vibration or lightbar though. The cable is plenty long too.

u/failstrongly · 2 pointsr/playstation

This is the only thing I've seen around.

u/Peacelovefleshbones · 2 pointsr/PS4

Only thing meatier than a Dualshock 4 is an Xbox controller. Luckily Hori makes a PS4 controller that looks like an Xbox controller.

u/MissedHerPink · 2 pointsr/PS4

Really eh. If the controller's all you like, get the Horipad FPS plus.

I prefer the xbox controller, but I don't hate the PS4 controller. It still feels nice imo, and has way better features. But if I could only recommend one console, I'd go with PS4 just because of all the exclusive titles that xbox lacks, especially if you're not into Halo or Gears.

u/thepipesarecall · 2 pointsr/MvC3

I cannot recommend this controller enough. The turbo feature allows for easy button mashing during supers, it's very lightweight, has almost identical ergonomics to a 360 controller, and the bumpers/triggers are both just contoured buttons with very light action required.

Also, for fps, there's a small secondary trigger recessed into the left grip that, when pressed, tightens the sensitivity quite a bit for more precise aiming.

Absolutely love this controller, well worth the money.

u/adescuentechable · 2 pointsr/PS4

Actually, Hori makes one, but it isn't cheaper than the DS4. And it's missing the headphone port, lightbar, vibration, motion sensor, and it's not wireless.

u/LadBooboo · 2 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

If you really want this controller exists for ps4 and has the Xbox button layout. It's wired though.

u/turdlop · 2 pointsr/PS4

I use the $50 Hori FPS Plus. The right and left triggers behave strangely in some games, both GTA and Red Dead I use dualshock 4 because the aiming and shooting doesn't work properly on the Hori. But other than that it's easily my favorite 3rd party controller that I've used.

u/pizzaghoul · 2 pointsr/PS4

Yes, yes, and yes. They also make this controller that I used to make the jump in March. I very quickly got used to the newer one though, as I loved the kitchyness of the touchpad and the speaker and the motion aspects. Like, in Infamous: Second Son, you have to shake the controller and move it around to spray graffiti. Its so cool. But here is the controller that feels like the Xbox one: https://www.amazon.com/Horipad-FPS-Plus/dp/B0106XFCPI/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1498607773&sr=1-1&keywords=Horipad+fps

EDIT: Also, I literally sold my new PS4 and bought a Pro like a month after and the difference even on a non 4K tv is worth the extra hundo. The FPS improvements are night and day in some games.

u/BrotherBroseph · 2 pointsr/PS4

If it's that much of a problem, I'd suggest looking into buying this controller.

u/JustiniZHere · 2 pointsr/JRPG

If it's not a money problem, I might have a small solution...Get both?

There is no reason to not have a ps4 and xbone if you seriously wanted to play games that are on ps4.

Also these exist, so your controller issues aren't a problem either.

u/Yorea · 2 pointsr/PS4

Yeah, so I mean there are options out there, but even in the PS3 days I found most 3rd party controllers were fairly poor compared to the real deal. Last I looked I think the Hori was more favourably received, called the FPS I think it was.

I mean, there are the others that Sony licensed like the Naicon, but they're premium rather than cheap. NaiconRevo is like £150..

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/playstation

Yeah, it's very sad. By introducing the touchpad with the DS4, Sony decreased any potential competition on their gamepads by an astronomical amount (as it stands, only Hori offers any decent PS4 gamepad at all). If they continue with the touchpad requirement for the next Dualshock iteration, I definitely won't bother getting a PS5 at launch.

u/BluBlue4 · 1 pointr/INJUSTICE

I bought the Hori FPS controller. $45~. It made sense for me since I needed a new ps4 and ps3 controller, the extra button, programmable buttons, larger frame and the turbo button helps with the lvl 20 grind. Read reviews to get a good pros/cons. I love it.

u/tgaDave · 1 pointr/darksouls3

No love for the Hori horipad fps plus? A wired ps3/4 controller with the 360 layout, a more linear analogue stick curve and a couple of other useful things. Also non-trigger shoulder buttons!

The only things I really dislike about it are:

u/laserhawke · 1 pointr/Overwatch

If your on Ps4 but there's the Hori fps plus, it has an aim button on the back so I can hold that and drop my sensitivity right down, it's really good for small adjustments and sniping also when I play Genji I can remap X to that button instead.

u/DerRoger · 1 pointr/PS3

I've tried several controllers and there are only 2 I really like (not counting the PS4 controller):

  • Sony's DualShock 3 (standard PS3 controller)

  • HORI's Hori Pad Plus (for PS3, PS4 and PC)

If you can't get used to the pad try this, I have one myself only real con is there is no rumble function or headset input, otherwise its a great pad

The fastest way to farm AP i have found is to farm the dog spawns at THIS LOCATION using the "Summon Enemies Whistle" with Warp Strike while Noctis has the Royal Weapon shield is attached.

The other farm method I have found requires a Turbo Controller. You go to a campsite, select "train", then have to turbo controller set to spam (L1, △, and X) this will make Noctis warp strike kill Gladio over and over. You are able to get 1 AP every 8 seconds this way.

Right now, there are only two officially licensed products - the Raiju and the upcoming Nacon. There are also two controllers that aren't officially licensed, but also sold already.

The first one is the Hori FPS pad:
https://www.amazon.de/Hori-Pad-FPS-Plus-PS3/dp/B0106XFCPI
It's only 40 €, so I don't think it can really be a competition to the pricier pads. It got good reviews on German amazon though, but then again, they could just have been bought.

The second one is this Emio Elite pad:
https://www.amazon.com/EMiO-Elite-Controller-PS4-Gaming-Console/dp/B01M0IJGBJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482136115&sr=8-1&keywords=ps4+elite
It's 90 bucks, closer to the Nacon at 110, but I haven't really read anything about this one. While I think that it looks cheap, it's interesting that it offers the same extras as the Xbox ONE Elite.

And yeah, I know what you mean. It bothers me that Scufs etc. are so pricy and not officially licensed.

As someone that also prefers the Xbox control design (I'm imagining that's why you prefer it), I'd suggest buying a Hori FPS Plus controller. Best bang for the buck.

Horipad FPS Plus, my friend. Don't leave the Xbox brand for PS4 without it.

Best deal I could find, I think madcatz is out of business, I'm not sure If they came back recently or I'm thinking of another company.. there's also a SCUF brand remote, but that's like 200$ https://www.amazon.com/Horipad-FPS-Plus-PS4/dp/B0106XFCPI

u/CanadianTurt1e · 1 pointr/PS3

I recommend going on amazon and seeing if there's and 3rd party sellers that are selling new. If you live in Canada, you can try kijiji, or craigslist if you live in USA. It shouldn't be too hard to find, especially if you're looking on sites like ebay. I know you said you don't like to buy used, but if it's from a reputable seller, and they have a good refund policy, then you got nothing to lose.

Or if you want an actual good 3rd party PS3 controller, try this:

https://www.amazon.com/Horipad-FPS-Plus-PS4/dp/B0106XFCPI/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1538624918&sr=1-3&keywords=hori+ps3&dpID=410GJOh2lSL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Hori is a very trusted brand. Highly recommend them.

u/mikeyaaron · 1 pointr/gaming

Not sure about the triggers but these are wired but it's better than nothing I suppose

u/cowscats21 · 1 pointr/GirlGamers

I personally HATE the PS4 controller. My husband and both tried thumb grips, silicone skins, etc, to make the controller comfortable. Nothing. So I went and bought this: https://www.amazon.ca/PlayStation-Hori-Video-Controller-Commander/dp/B0106XFCPI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1497370985&sr=8-3&keywords=hori+ps4. The reviews are mixed, but it's the best third PS4 controller I ever used. I went and bought 3; since we have 3 PS4s.
I also have the CronusMax, but you will need the Pro Pad on the PS4 controller to access the menu on some games.

u/EgoGrinder · 1 pointr/PS4

Only option out there that has the analog stick layout that way is by Hori. Looks rather clunky in all other aspects. You can also look into controller adapters like Titan One that let you connect other controllers. http://www.amazon.com/Horipad-FPS-Plus/dp/B0106XFCPI/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1456946858&sr=1-3&keywords=hori+ps4

I love the Sony brand Dual Shock 4 controllers. However, if you're missing the shape of Xbox style controllers, I've seen other manufacturers make them in that style.

I've played on Sony systems since I switched from X360 to PS3 (after also having been mostly Xbox) and I was tempted by these myself. However, I never did because I knew it would just stagger my transition to the feel of the new console and accompanying hardware.

If you still just don't like how the DS4 feels in your hands during play, you should check out something like this.

If you're looking for a good skin (I don't think any Sony contollers will come in purple) but I recommend DecalGirl. Lots more options than solid colors and you might find something that suits you!

u/MrBenSampson · 1 pointr/bloodborne

If you're not a fan of the dualshock4, then there are a few third party controllers to consider. This is the one that I've been using for almost 2 years, and it's more than $100 cheaper than the pro controller.

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0106XFCPI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FHqdzbBYQGVRP

u/InternetKingTheKing · 1 pointr/gaming

I had the same issue. My girlfriend owned a PS4 but I never played it. She got me Horizon because I said it looked awesome. 25 mins in all my fingers hurt and the controller is too small for my hands. I also grew up with xbox controllers so the layout was irritating as shit -- especially how the analog sticks are right next to each other and both my thumbs need to be at 90 degree angles to reach them...the fuck? Who designed this shit?

So y'all can take this as me being a shill or whatever but I really have to recommend this controller I found on Amazon called the Horipad. https://www.amazon.com/Horipad-FPS-Plus/dp/B0106XFCPI/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1494879086&sr=1-1&keywords=horipad+ps4

It has xbox control layouts and is larger than the dualshocks and isn't uncomfortable as shit. The only downside is there's no rumble pack or whatever they're called now -- so there is no vibration or feedback. I wish there was or there was a more expensive option with the rumble pack but I couldn't find one.

But that controller let me finish one of the best games I've ever played without my hands hurting 30 seconds into every fight.

u/opuk · 1 pointr/Kappa

If you want to continue playing Analog, https://www.amazon.com/Horipad-FPS-Plus-PS4/dp/B0106XFCPI is currently what I use.

They're fairly cheap and last longer than 360 Pads, but just like every other pad the Analog stick will gives eventually.

u/Nokel · 1 pointr/FIFA

The sticks aren't too bad to get used to but I think the controller overall is a bit too short height-wise (ie. where I rest the palms of my hands to where my fingers lay over the triggers). On Xbox 360 my fingertips fit perfectly on the triggers so that my fingertips were on top of the buttons, but on PS4 my fingertips are almost completely off the trigger buttons (ie. having off them past the first knuckle) and I either have to move my fingers back so I can press the L1 or R1 buttons or I have to keep my fingers completely off the side of the controller so my fingertips lay on L2/R2.

It's not awful for stuff like Shadow of Mordor (where time slows down when I need to use L2/R2) but I think I'll have to buy this controller in order to play FIFA comfortably.

u/assbread · 1 pointr/PS4

they're uncommon, probably for the reasons /u/cstrife991 stated.

there are a handful more tailored to 6 button fighting games, and there's this which isn't really cheap enough to justify getting it over the regular ds4. that's pretty much the problem, there isn't a good way for 3rd parties to include all the features of the DS4 and produce it cheaply enough to be relevant.

u/mmiski · 1 pointr/PS4

This is the only 3rd party controller for the PS4 that I know of. The added complexity of current gen controllers (touchpad, lightbar, built-in speaker, etc.) made producing affordable third party options more difficult I think.

I personally haven't had any issues with the stock DS4 controller. I think there was maybe one time around launch when I felt discomfort with it. And that was from a binge gaming session with Battlefield 4. But after turning the vibration feature off I never experienced it again (it also improved the battery life dramatically).

u/Bilbodidit · 1 pointr/Overwatch

Can confirm, I have some. There really do provide a better feel.

I also suggest one of these controllers:

https://www.amazon.com/Horipad-FPS-Plus/dp/B0106XFCPI

u/curtisimpson · 1 pointr/Infinitewarfare

I bought two Cinch controllers for PS4 at the start of BO3, and both were broken by the time IW came out. One actually arrived broken and had to be sent back immediately for repair. I do NOT recommend.

I'm currently using the Horipad FPS Plus. It's a licensed controller with a single remappable button on the back left (I use it to jump). I will admit that it's not quite as good of a button placement, but for under $50, it's great! It also has hairpin L2/R2.

Here's the Amazon link

There are a few good YouTube videos out there as well (check out "GameGazm TV" and "Cannot Be Tamed").
