and this, "the new feminine brain" is also FASCINATING and taught me a lot about my own behavior. i made neil read it in the first year of our realtionship and i honestly think it helped him to understand me, hormones, moods, and emotions:

CONGRATS ON YOUR JOB AND PREGGO EGGO! Praying that it comes out happy and healthy as can be!

  • My awful cousin and her racist unemployed husband finally stopped taking advantage of my grandmother and moved out! YAY!

  • I bought two Suda51 games that are just awesomely ridiculous.

  • My trip to Florida is only 2 days away and I'll be getting my new septum piercing down there.

  • Just got back from the doctor's and they said my insulin level is down (take that PCOS!)

  • I bought "How To Be A Woman" and I'm excited to read it.

  • Got some beautiful dresses and some new bras that make me look like whoa awesome.

I can't wait for what next week brings!

Thanks!

Haha yeah I read Dan Savage's latest on a flight last year, and the very staid middle-aged man next to me kept glancing over at the page literally any time it was about buttsex.

Whoops.

I also read Caitlin Moran's How to Be a Woman on a train in Morocco and nearly cried laughing.

Are you looking for classic feminist theory or more of a loosely interpreted perspective? If you're looking for a little comedy with lots of feminist ideals thrown around, I'd suggest How To Be A Woman by Caitlin Moran. It's funny, it's real, and it's a decent read.

Also, as a huge Tina Fey fan, she doesn't talk about typical feministic theories, but she gives an interesting perspective of a woman in a largely male industry of comedy. I found her book Bossypants, while somewhat self-loathing, to be a great source of inspiration. These again are more of an application in everyday life, not so much the discussion of the actual theories.

Well, judge a movement by its ideas, not the people who espouse it. If you meet a lousy mailman who steals your mail and makes you cry, it would be silly to condemn the postal service for that.

Read this book: Caitlin Moran's How to be a Woman. It's funny and incredible. And if it doesn't change your mind and views, it'll at least make you laugh.
