In terms of things people don't know or get wrong:

  • We don't break the law - at least not if we want to stay out of prison/keep our jobs.
  • We're as likely to be working fraud cases as domestics or criminal defense.
  • In most states, you can't be licensed without investigative experience measured in years.
  • In any state that licenses, any criminal history is going to be a problem, if not a prohibitor.
  • We don't drive Ferraris or Porsches generally speaking (though I am hoping to one day change this)
