You could always go for something like this. It's not exactly portable but it seems pretty cool.

I have the Retron 3. It uses original controllers (non-usb) for NES, SNES and Genesis. Best console I ever bought. It is the closest emulator I've ever used because it's hardware based.

I'm sorry to hear that, you should get one of these, so you can even play your old SNES/NES games too :)

I would stay away from lukiegames, there is many other better places to get stuff. I personally don't like how lukiegames get their stuff or how they operate. Their prices are much higher than what you could find on eBay. $100 for a SNES with the wires and no game is just insane. Here is one that has the box for around the same price. If you want a retron 3 here is one brand new. Here is just a SNES console with wires.

Please give your money to someone that isn't lukiegames, they are known as the biggest douche resellers on eBay. There are many sellers out there that treat people much better and sell stuff at reasonable prices.

The sd snes adapter is programmable so it should be possible but as of yet I don't think anyone has implemented it.

Your best (and cheapest ) bet is probably the retron 3.

I don't remember how old I was when I was given Arkista's Ring I beat it through until level 112 or 113, something around there. I forgot about it and moved on with my life. Last year my boyfriend and I found my NES, N64, Game Boy (The Brick), Dreamcast, Genesis (16 bit) and most of my old games. For Xmas, I asked for this bad boy, since my NES was wonky and my Genesis wouldn't start at all. I never had a SNES (I know, I know shut up).

Anyway, I fired up Arkista's Ring, thinking "HEY I can finally beat this game now, I'm an adult and this should will be easy." Guess which level I died at? Yeah, same one. Its a game where there's no save points and if you die-die, you have to start over from the very beginning. I went through it for like a week and I got stuck here stage 30 at the bottom, except I was in the "hundreds" meaning like 3x as hard. Shit is sped up too, except the main character goes the same speed.

Eventually I just gave up and haven't played it since. Those goddamn ninjas.

You know you can purchase one of those Chinese knockoff consoles for around $50. They'll play NES and sometimes Genesis games too, typically.

Do you want a real SNES or will a knockoff do?

You can get an FC Twin pretty cheap:

Or maybe this if you like Sega controllers:

And this is a new console, you don't have to worry about batteries.

For connection you're probably thinking of video connection, S-Video is as good as anything. If your TV doesn't have S-Video or Composite inputs you'll need s converter of some kind.

Personally, in 2012, I'd use an emulator. PC NES/SNES emulators have better support than hardware or the Wii Virtual Console at this point.

Okay, that is a VERY different situation (not evident at all from your title). If you are not a nostalgic gamer, you could get some decent money selling these on Amazon or eBay. But you could also just as easily pick up a Retron (though the new Retron 5 is coming out soon) and play all these games if you are so inclined.

I'd personally go with one of those classic game bundles, or maybe even something like a Retron 3 with some actual cartridges. In both cases, the included wireless controllers aren't very good, but you can connect authentic controllers to these systems.

The rde iews show inconsistent quality, but I have a local store that sells this, and I have often considered buying one. http://www.amazon.com/Hyperkin-Retron-System-GENESIS-Nintendo-Entertainment/dp/B003Y5AHPG/ref=pd_cp_vg_0

Its NES, SNES and Genesis in a single system.

Sega Genesis, Baseball 20/20

SNES Mario Kart

Sega Genesis Mutant League Hockey

I could go on forever here. I have a [retron 3] (https://www.amazon.com/Hyperkin-Retron-System-GENESIS-Nintendo-Entertainment/dp/B003Y5AHPG) Best investment I ever made as it plays sega, SNES and NES games!
