I've been using this case for a couple days, built in screen protector, no issues so far

not so much for the drop protection, but because the bulky, bits-jutting-out design means there's a lot to grip onto on the case so you're a lot less likely to lose grip on the phone. Makes it easier to pull the phone out of a pocket or hold by the 'lips' on the corners of the case.

I have a plastic screen protector built into my case. It's really nice actually. I didn't think I'd like the plastic, but I don't even notice it's there.

I have an s8+, the closest thing I've found to a traditional otterbox is the i-blason ares, I wouldn't call it bifl but it has a built-in screen protector. I work in construction and tempered glass just doesn't cut it.
