Fukuyama's latest, Identity: The Demand for Dignity and the Politics of Resentment is excellent, if perhaps likely to ruffle some feathers no matter your political disposition.

Han stiller det op som at i det liberale demokrati så er hver enkelt persons identitet sig selv først, eksempelvis Rune og Sigge, og dernæst ens nationale identitet, eksempelvis dansker eller kineser, i modsætning til f.eks. i Afghanistan hvor ens religiøse identitet er over individet.
Efterfølgende fortæller han hvordan det hjælper samfundet at kvinder og minoriteter påkalder sig sin gruppeidentitet politisk frem for at være "det ukrænkelige og demokratiske individ".


Hvis idpol seriøst skal være en del af Danmark, og det må man vel sige at det er når redaktøren for Information melder sådan ud på nationalt tv, så må det vel være tid til at mænd også påkalder vores gruppeidentitet.

"You're a fucking white male" og "mansplaining" skal ikke blive en del af den danske universitets- og folketingsdiskurs som det er i USA og Australien

The segregration we experience is dividing us al up into smaller and smaller subgroups. The fear of being labelled and the fear of prejudice, doesn't prevent that labelling and prejudice are also present in these subgroups.

The way popular psychology has shaped public opinion on what makes the individual, is interesting as well. The whole idea of subconciousness and of being subconsciously unaware of other peoples situation (which implies guilt and a need for education), has become a mental and moral noose. A tool of coersion and shaming.
