I currently don't do this.

I fill a pump sprayer with 1oz:1gal ONR/distilled water, spray a panel, let it sit for a second to bind with any dirt, wipe down with a microfiber. Not sure if that fully qualifies as "touching the paint" as I'm not actually "scrubbing" in any way, as you would with a sponge.
Hello! I bought a new car a little over a month ago and I wanted to do some basic cleaning with it, stuff that can be done maybe a couple times a month, since I never personally did that with my previous car.

Will I still want to get a clay bar + wax for after washing, or is just washing every so often enough?
Im not a professional, but ive done my families cars and Ive figure out some things that help. Always stay hydrated, especially if your outside in the sun. Take frequent breaks to go inside cool off or sit in the shade. Also plan out doing the job in a period of a few days, not all in one. And something else I noticed was that like any other type of exercise or physical activity, your body will get used to it and it should start to ache a little less the more you do it. There are also little spary bottles you can buy and fill it with a product like iron x and it has a pump handle so it has a constant spary instead of having to constantly pull the trigger, its way easier on your hands, something like this.
