It's a lot more expensive on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Ikea-201-194-18-Dioder-Light-4-Piece/dp/B00R8H98V0/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1524696064&sr=8-8&keywords=ikea%2Bdioder&th=1
It looks nice and works well. I have two strips mounted on the verticals and the controller mounted on the left one.

Edit: Found them
UK (Amazon) - Around £60
US (Amazon) - Around $30 (60% Off)
I bought them in a hardware store, they were pretty similar to these. 4 solid strips, not very long but mine are pretty steady.
I actually do like them at night for some surrounding light, my eyes get tired otherwise.
They are completely independent of the PC. I attached the controller to the underside of my desk so I can control and flip through the colors and select whatever I am in the mood for.

I'm currently using an LED strip for similar purposes (link below). The wiring' a little tricky to get hidden, but I like the control for color-changing. I'm sure there are more basic options out there as well

I use the IKEA Dioder LED 4 piece light strip set. The led inside the case is an NZXT 2meter light strip.
here's the link - It works great, even comes with little metal brackets to screw in to the back of the desk. http://www.amazon.com/Ikea-501-923-65-Dioder-Multicolor-4-Piece/dp/B00R8H98V0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421200432&sr=8-1&keywords=ikea+dioder
