This shit right here changed my makeup storage game! I put all primers, foundations, sunscreen, brow products, cream shadows, sponges, some brushes and lip products, cream chubby stick products, mini perfumes, etc. on this and I love how convenient it is!

For my powders I store them in an empty q-tip rectangle packaging lol it's the perfect size for powder products! I also have this thing but the drawers bug me so I mostly just put samples and things I don't use often into it. I do keep my lipsticks and eyeliners in the top part though. Everything else just lives in the main drawer of my vanity (concealers, single shadows, color correctors, mascara, etc). My palettes are put into a letter organizer which isn't too exciting either

What about something like this where you could lay them flat in a drawer?

Can you take a picture of the desk? Also Amazon has some great makeup organizers on their website you can buy pretty cheap (around $12-$30 usually). Ones with drawers and spaces to put lipstick are popular. You can also use office supplies as storage. I use letter holders to organize my eyeshadow palettes. Depending on your budget, you could set up a mirror. You can get small standing mirrors with or without lights on them. You can also get wall-mounted mirrors. There's alot of tutorials online about how to make DIY lighted makeup mirrors if you'd like to save a little bit. Hope this helps a little bit!

Edit: here's a link to a good makeup Organizer

I'm finally really happy with my makeup organization. Almost everything is in the top drawer of my 4-drawer Ikea Malm dresser. In the drawer, things are separated by item type (eyeliner, single shadows, brows, etc.) into these, except for palettes, which are in a mail organizer in the drawer. On top of my dresser, everything else fits into one of these except for my brushes which sit in a cup. Then I hung a mirror and a light over the dresser and have a great standing vanity that still has three drawers for clothes and other stuff!

I ordered it from Amazon. Search for "acrylic drawers" or "acrylic organizer" to see other styles.

I have an IKEA desk that I painted silver, this acrylic organizer on the top of desk, a silver platter that holds nail polish and perfume, a silver cup thing to hold brushes, and a plastic box I keep in the laptop cubbie. All my makeup needs to fit in the organizer. If it doesn't then I go through it and see what I need to get rid of. The plastic box in the cubbie holds seasonal face products, extras of my favorite red lipstick (Ruby Woo), and q-tips.

I don't know your budget, but may I suggest your having a look at E-Cig Stands?

They are a British couple, husband is a carpenter, and they propose superb bespoke wooden vaping stands at a very reasonable price.

EDIT: a little search on Pinterest gave these results. They could a starting point for your search on Amazon?

UPDATE: if you like transparent-looking organizers, a nail polish/make up bench top organizer might perfectly do.

If like me, you're more keen on wood, bench top organizers can be the way to go.

The thing is, if you think outside the box, possibilities are simply endless: wall toiletry organizers, tackle boxes, professional make-up cases, tool boxes, watchmaker's benchtops, jeweller benchtops, arts & crafts organizers...

I got them as a set on amazon when I was living in the States! Here's a [link] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DUJEWDE/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_Zl2Lwb9V32AT3).

This is where I bought mine!

*edit: I didn't see the other comment with the same link so forgive the double post, but I highly recommend this organizer!

I bought the same one earlier this year for 17.50, here's the link. Looks like the price increased. http://www.amazon.com/Ikee-Design®-Acrylic-Jewelry-Cosmetic/dp/B00DUJEWDE

I've been thinking of making my own with plexiglass/acrylic. It's dead simple and I'd be able to have exactly what I want. I'm interested to see what else is posted though.

Here's a small acrylic cosmetic organizer that I'll be getting for my regular vaping gear. I'm thinking of this same idea but bigger with partitions like your saying. The only thing I'm concerned with is being able to make it look nice and not like I slapped some plexiglass together.

I just got that large one in your last picture from Amazon!. I love it so far, I used to have this one before. I hold most of my makeup in the large one (I also use a desk organizer, a brush/palette holder, lipstick holder) but I LOVE the large organizer the most!!

I'll upload my collection next week, I wanted to wait to get everything in and organized first:)

What acrylic organizers do you guys use?

[This style](Ikee Design Acrylic Jewelry & Cosmetic Storage Display Boxes Two Pieces Set. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DUJEWDE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.7xzxbZ3VMG4M) is prevalent, but I'm looking for one with sleeker handles/openings (something not as ornamental, just a simple shape like the MUJI openings or a spherical knob). Bonus points if the organizer is about 9.5 inches long and not over $30

I'm pretty sure the one on the far right is this one!

The one in the middle?

[This] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DUJEWDE/ref=pd_aw_sims_9?pi=SS115&simLd=1) is also quite useful for storing equipment in the drawers and flavours on the top

u/zerotimesawake · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I sure do! I've also seen very similar ones at Home Goods if you have one nearby you! :)

u/JARL_OF_DETROIT · 2 pointsr/modelmakers

HERE.

It's not quite what you're describing but any kind of cheap makeup organizer does the job to keep things tidy and organized.

I use these from amazon! One of them I've had for 5 years now and it's held up well

For a little bit of a back story, growing up I was intrigued by my father's pipe collection, which were nicely displayed in a hutch with a glass door that he built.

This isn't the final form, but for now I've been using these type of items:

Amazon shelf display

Amazon - Cosmetic Organizer # 1

Amazon COsmetic Organizer # 2

I typically use the small square holes for clearos, RDAs, 15ml juice. the other areas get filled up with whatever fits. I would say they are ok for a small collection, and for the price I think they pretty good. Fasttech also has many options for clear acrylic displays as well.

As for the bulk of the juice, I tend to keep it tucked away inside of a drawer as well, but have found using smaller Tupperware type containers useful for helping keep it organized.

I got it from amazon

I have a MALM Ikea desk that I purchased solely for school/regular desk stuff. Since then I've become more invested in makeup and have transformed it into a half vanity half regular desk hybrid. I fit a lot of makeup (like palettes, primers, and large highlighters and bronzers) in drawer organizers in the top drawer of the desk and use the large bottom drawer to store school stuff. On top of the desk I have two Ikee acrylic containers from Amazon here and here that I use for eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, foundation, blush, concealer, and basically everything else. I also have a couple Sonia Kashuk brush holders on top of my desk as well, along with a lighted makeup mirror. I also hung a larger mirror on the wall in front of the desk.

It's a pretty big desk so I can fit a lot on it and it works well for multi-tasking with all of my school stuff.

I can't imagine treating my makeup with such disdain. That shit is expensive and I want it to last, I see that some of these brands are the cheaper or "drug store" variety but it still costs money, how wasteful. Maybe an organizer and a closer trashcan would help? Amazon has really useful (and inexpensive) acrylic organizers that keep your products in nicer shape, and make the counter look cleaner, I have this one https://www.amazon.com/Ikee-Design-Acrylic-Jewelry-Cosmetic/dp/B00DUJEWDE/ and it holds a ton of stuff. Maybe for Christmas?
