I swear by this -- a folding, portable laptop stand. It's a little pricey, but in our line of work, it's worth every penny.

I've tried several different solutions and am not entirely happy with any of them. I've seen this inStand model in person and it was very sturdy while also being compact. But its way too pricey for me to buy my own.
