239.99 on amazon

I check r/buildapcsales before posting this and it looks like this sale comes every so often. figured i would let ya'll know it was back if you were indeed in the market for this processor.

***edit***

same company is selling the I5-9600k for $23 more

It is, I didn't realize the EU had it so bad. I just did some research.

I looked at price history for the i5-8600k In the US, UK, and FR on Amazon.

USA (minimal price increase over lowest (still lower than launch)
https://camelcamelcamel.com/Intel-i5-8600K-Desktop-Processor-unlocked/product/B0759FKH8K?context=search

UK(prices slightly over launch, but much more expensive than the USA)
https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Intel-BX80684I58600K-Core-i5-8600K-Processor/product/B0759FKH8K

FR(prices slightly over launch, but much more expensive than the USA)

Kind of interesting. Sorry that buying sucks over there... You might check the used market in the USA. Ebay USA. Plenty of people ship internationally.

Wat. You can literally get an 8600k for less on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-8600K-Desktop-Processor-unlocked/dp/B0759FKH8K

u/Xonaph42 · 2 pointsr/intel

It’s more like a 70 dollar difference between the two. And you’d have to get an aftermarket cooler for both of them because the 8700 is going to get uncomfortably hot under the stock cooler and paste. And if you get a b360 motherboard you’ll be stuck with 2666mhz ram while you can get a decent Samsung B-die here for the same price or less than lower quality ram and overclock it to around 3600 cl14 and tighten the timings and create a huge gap in gaming performance over the 8700 with a decent overclock on the 8600k.

I would suggest upgrading your CPU next especially since you're already running a 1060.

Suggest an i5 8600k which goes great with the 1060

https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-8600K-Desktop-Processor-unlocked/dp/B0759FKH8K

u/wh173 · 2 pointsr/intel

>Ironic you should say that after suggesting the i5 8400

Read the topic, the reason I said this is becuase the guy mentioned buying the 2600X and he is already thinking about the upgrade to zen2, but since he says he bought the 2600X due to pricing, none of it makes sense and I argued why.

> SMT and so you're looking at 6c/12t, which is going to absolutely destroy the i5 8400 in any other situation.

Not in CAD, or 3DSMAX, or video editing using quicksync.

How about an 8600k for £238.66 & FREE Delivery in the UK.

Good luck, you keep buying your cpus due to MOAR CORES and running cinebench over and over and ill just look at the performance of the software I use, or in this context, what the person actually said they were going to use it for. If I were only gaming even the 7700k would be a better buy against a ryzen.

This is the new CPU.

u/themagicalcake · 1 pointr/buildapc

What is the difference between this and this? PCpartpicker does not show the first one and the second one is apparently a new model, but what makes it a $20 difference?

u/c0horst · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I'd start with buying a new CPU, Motherboard, and Memory.

You can easily do that for $500.

8600K CPU ($260)
16GB Ram ($160)
Z370 Motherboard ($150)

A little over your budget, but would be good for a solid several years going forward. Could probably do a Ryzen setup for less, but I don't have experience using one, so I'm not a good person to talk to about it.

u/alex27123344 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Gotcha on that first part. This is what I'm looking at, are we talking about the same chip? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0759FKH8K/?tag=pcpapi-20

Bit confused on where the $500 estimate is from

u/Confused_Shelf · 1 pointr/buildapc

First time building a PC and I have a quick question about RAM memory speed.

If I'm looking at an i5 8600k that supports up to DDR4-2666, am I right in thinking that there is no point getting memory that goes up to 3000MHz even if my motherboard supports up to 4000MHz.

Is it only the CPU that makes use of memory or are there other components that would make use of that faster memory?

Thank you.

u/SpecifyGaming · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Hey, since your budget is around $1350, I can't say much but its best for you to choose your own keyboard, mouse, and headphones because they're personal equipment meaning one might not work best for you if it doesn't suit you comfortably. So, for now, I'm just gonna give you a PC build w/ monitor + OS only.

EDIT: I forgot to add that some parts MIGHT not be available for international shipping like newegg. So if most of newegg products are unavailable in the Philippines, use amazon as an alternate. I just found out the GTX 1070 Ti I listed is not available in the Philippines. Buy these instead:

Buy those as an alternate (for newegg) and you're good to go! It shouldn't make such a price difference.

Summarized:

  • Yes to overclocking? 8600k ($240) + best affordable GPU
  • No to overclocking? 8700 ($300) + best affordable GPU

Do you plan on overclocking? The 8700k/8700 have higher frequencies out of the box compared to the 8600k, which is pretty much their only gaming advantage. But if you overclock the 8600k it will hit the same frequencies so that advantage disappears.

The GTX 1070 will definitely hold up longer than the GTX 1060. But for current games, I would probably say it is overkill for 1080p... but you will be more future proofed.
u/gerunk · 1 pointr/buildapc

CPU - Intel i5 8600k $239.

CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $30.

Motherboard - MSI Z370-A PRO $100.

RAM - Patriot Viper Elite Series 8GB DDR4 2400MHz $81.

Total Price: $904. Throw in Windows for an additional $90-$100. It's really hard to get a decent PC to be under $1,000 nowadays with the price of RAM and GPU's :( I think this build will suit you best though. It's definitely not bad,
