I actually bought the Isntree toner in Seoul at Olive Young while I was visiting! I’ve also seen it being sold on amazon.

Thanks for the review! I’m fine with fragranced products, but the lack of moisture might be a problem for my dry/dehydrated skin. I’ll contemplate on it some more haha :)

Also I should say that I thought phenyoxyethanol was the issue so I got this toner which has none but is 50% HA and the problem got so much worse so I def knew it was the HA. If your willing to, it could be a good test to determine if it is the HA or not cuz it seemed like an amazing toner for those who can tolerate HA. It was super discouraging tho cuz I was so broke and spent my last money on it that’s why I could only use squalane. But I returned it so I could try some other products. Face stuff is so frustrating when it’s not working (and funds are limited)!

Isntree Hylauronic Acid Toner is amazingly hydrating and contains HA as the first ingredient (I believe it's 50% HA!), along with lots of other gentle and natural extracts.

I also have super sensitive fragrance and alcohol hating skin, and I can relate.

Cleanser looks good, moisturizer looks good, exfoliant is a bit harsh- you can try a chemical exfoliant like a glycolic acid toner, but it's not necessary. TBH if you want to get rid of flakes from dry patches you can wet a towel and gently rub the dry areas.

For your texture issues, I would recommend a weekly or bi-weekly mask of The Ordinary's AHA 30% and BHA 2% Peeling Solution. It's a beet red mask that really exfoliates skin and is known to be super helpful to those with texture issues. It's many SCA user's holy grail mask. I use it when needed and it always helps out a lot. It may sting a bit, but it's worth it.

IMO you should figure out why you are having the dryness to begin with. Perhaps incorporate a hydrating toner post cleansing applied on a wet face (to prevent trans-epidermal water loss). Isntree HA toner is what I use and it's very pure, simple and doesn't break me out. I literally just pour it on my face.

You can also use an occlusive or sleeping pack (like aquaphor) at night after moisturizer. It shouldn't make you breakout and it really seals in the moisture to your skin. It's greasy and not sexy at all if you have a SO that you share a bed with, but it really helps dry skin not be dry.

SPF is important because, even if it's not sunny outside you are still affected by UVA rays. Unless you only leave the house at night and are in a location with no sunlight, then its okay, but I'd recommend using a sunscreen daily. Purito is the one I use and it has no fragrance or silicones or alcohol and is made for sensitive skin. It never made me break out and even calms down redness. Also it doesn't peel on my skin with makeup which is crazy.

You may want to look into brands that are made for sensitive skin in mind. My favorites are The Ordinary, and Etude House's Soon Jung line.

Hope this Helps!

Skin Type: combination/dehydrated maybe??/acne-prone | Country/Climate I'm in: hot/humid/sometimes dry | Top Skin Concern: large pores, oil control in T-zone, pit-like scars on temples

Current Routine/Products I'm Using (as of two days ago):

AM

Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash

Thayer's Witch Hazel - Alcohol-free in Cucumber

Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner

Care Zone Doctor Solution A-cure Clarifying Emulsion

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+/PA++++

PM

Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash

Thayer's Witch Hazel - Alcohol-free in Cucumber

Aura Cacia Organic Skin Care Oil - Restoring Rosehip Oil with Vitamin E (For spot treatment and thickening my eyebrows lmao)

Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner

Care Zone Doctor Solution A-cure Clarifying Emulsion

Recently bought the Thayer's Witch Hazel to replace my previous toner (which was from the same Carezone Doctor's solution line) thinking it would be good since I like using watery toners with a cotton pad to wipe off oil after washing my face (dunno if that actually does anything). However, today I noticed my face was in a thin layer of oil, basically the same post-wash oily feeling as when I used to not use toner or anything and just suffered with a dry cracking face after washing. Not sure if this is what people who "broke out from Thayer's" also experienced except my skin just didn't break out?? Any speculation/experience with Thayer's will help!

Also, my Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence Rose Edition finally came in from Yesstyle! It looks really watery and you apply it with a cotton pad, so hopefully it can replace my Thayer's!

Oh I didn’t realize you were already using them. I thought you were just about to start all of them at once, lol. I think you should be good then.

Does Aquaphor not work well for you? I use that as my occlusive. A more expensive (and fun) option I’ve tried is Miss Flower Mr Honey Cream. It’s like honey scented more liquids Vaseline almost. Lastly, my occlusive I use during the daytime is Stratia’s Liquid Gold. It has occlusive properties but is very nourishing to your moisture barrier and it’s not greasy and shiny during the day.

I don’t know what your price range is but isntree makes some good products. In particular, I think this would work great for you. It has no astringent properties but it is super hydrating.

I hope some of this helps you out!

I’ve tried both Hada Labo Premium and Moist, and both products broke me out in painful cysts. I’m on my 5th bottle of Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner and my skin loves it. YMMV, though!
