Not OP but I ended up ordering this battery. My hope is I can plug it into one USB, then use the two outputs of the battery. That’ll leave the other for a USB drive. This particular battery allows it to power the USBs while charging. So, in theory, it should still get ~2.1A from the single outlet to charge or passthrough even if the battery is dead. But when the battery is topped off, it should output even more (3.4A). I’m hoping all the times it’s not charging a phone will allow it to catch up and top off the battery.

If this doesn’t work, I’ll probably try to tap into a 12V source to power it.

A good PSU is essential and for road use I've kinda standardised on a 21,000mA power bank by Jackery. This can supply up 3.4A on each of the 2 ports. What's good about this one us that it can be charged while it's being used and it's just a battery - not a wannabe flashlight. Yeah, it'll take all day to charge (literally) but it does have the power.

Sorry if that link is so large.. I cant figure out how yall make such small links.. But anyways.. I own 2 of these and you can get 7-9 full charges on an Iphone or samsung galaxy with 1 charge on the battery pack. I also just bought a carrying case so i can keep the cords and everything together. We do a lot of remote and festival camping so no power for charges and it works great. I have a solar one also that isnt available on amazon anymore but i foumd with solar chargers that you get very little return on the solar and it isnt worth the investment.

Question, since youre the first person I've seen that mentions Jackery. I have a Jackery portable battery (not sure which model), but its 20100 mAh and the usb out port says "5v 3.4 amps, smart fit".

Will this work well enough?

I have 2 Jackery batteries, a 6Ah and a 12Ah. They both work fine with my loaded Stratux, and Jackery batteries support pass-thru charging. They also have a 20,100 2 port 3.4 amp version:

This is the one I use by the way. It's jacketed in aluminum and it's proven to be pretty fuckin sturdy so far. Worth every penny imo.
