Haha, they're great. Sliding around really makes you feel like a boss.

If you're truly interested, I bought mine here. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GG7AYLG/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Large arms and legs here.

For knee pads I used Deadbolts XL for awhile, but they twisted a lot and I was afraid of landing on my knee. I now just switched to the S1 knee pads in 2xl and honestly I could go down to an XL but luckily their straps are adjustable as they stretch out over time.

For elbow and wrist I use this set from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/JBM-international-Adult-Guards-Protective/dp/B00GG7AYLG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1521169840&sr=8-3&keywords=jbm%2Bpads&dpID=51mZntlwyeL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch&th=1&psc=1
The wrist guards have saved my wrists multiple times and the elbow pads work fine. The straps on the elbow pads are long enough but I added in an inch or so of fabric to the sleeve for comfort, although they were wearable before.

Because it seems like it's been mentioned quite a few times in this thread, here is a link to a set of adult knee, elbow and wrist pads that will only set you back $22: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GG7AYLG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_VTXEAbWP9VN4P

This was a must for me learning how to skate transition and these have been great so far.

You'd look awfully out of place with those work gloves on... I tried riding with my motorcycle gloves once, but they were too bulky to work the trigger comfortably (and they aren't even bulky gloves.) I'm sure you'd have the same issue with the leather ones. Leather gloves, in my experience, are very constricting. Maybe get a pair of wrist guards with the plastic protective part for the palm.

I got this cheap set of pads when I was starting out, and the wrist guards kept me for ripping my hands up when I discovered what wheel bite was. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GG7AYLG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475276005&sr=1-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=jbm+set&dpPl=1&dpID=41s9sKJn4-L&ref=plSrch

Edit: I forgot to mention.. they may look silly (or you might think they do), but they work well. They allow you to work a remote reasonably well, and keep you from having to deal with the pain of scraped hands and broken wrists.

Pads I've really liked these for the value.

Butt/hip

I feel like hips are under talked about. After my first fall I got these. My hips were the most bruised up part. Even months later I can feel it.

I like this set a lot. They're comfortable and still offer a good amount of room. (Also not bad on the wallet)

Sorry wish I knew more about helmets, I think I bought mine from a sports store. I'll leave that topic up to the other newskaters :)

Ahh I was looking to get the Ninebot Max though I ended up getting a nanrobot D3 since I was too impatient to wait for the crowd funding thing to end and them send out the units. Looks great tho, enjoy it!

This set comes with elbow, knee, and wrist guards: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00GG7AYLG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A21875UNY3A7GG&psc=1

I've got this set. Nothing fancy, just very comfortable and gives me all the protection I need :)

Went ahead and ordered some so I'd have something when the board gets here on Wednesday. Went https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K47RVSC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_6FTvyb0GMVAEV for the helmet and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GG7AYLG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_uHTvybZ125X37 for knee/elbow/wrist.

Went with a lower cost option because the reviews from the low end all the way to the top seemed pretty mixed. I'll let you guys know how it all works later in the week if I can get some decent weather to try it all out!
