My dd has just started using an open cup without screaming and/or crying. We have this cup

and I think the novelty of the little animal inside makes her want to use it. I just added a little bit of water (maybe 5mL) the first time, and have slowly increased it as she gets used to the cup. Hope you find something that works for you soon!
