I wish that worked for me, it's a great idea! Scales are a real game changer though I have this fancy nutrition scale, but still unfamiliar with all those neat features.

This food scale has a built in nutrition calculator for pre-programmed foods. You might even be able to program in your own custom foods.

As far as learning about portion sizes, it just gets easier as you continue to keep track of fat/protein/carb contents of the foods you eat. For example, I know off the top of my head that eggs have a naturally good ratio of fats to proteins to carbs (~5g fats, ~6g protein, ~1g carbs for a 62%/33%/5% ratio). Bacon also has a great ratio of ~3g fats to ~3g protein per slice (without any carbs either).

I use this one

I got it because I thought the calorie thing was cool although I never use that feature. I do like how quick it is though. My old one was all touch screen and you had to tap the zero button like 5 times to get it to zero, where this one works much better.
