KMC Perfect Fit huge price spike: $100,000 for 3 packs

u/iyva · 5 pointsr/AnimalCrossing

I use these card sleeves. I love them because they fit perfectly to the card and it doesn't move around inside.

I personally prefer to slip the card in upside down so the top of the card is touching the bottom of the sleeve.

If I'm going to be scanning a lot of cards in my game (or mailing them), I use anything similar to these top loaders.

For a binder I am currently using a few of these ultra pro 4-pocket binders until I have all of the official binders here.

u/J4H1_TCG · 3 pointsr/PokemonTCG

Also I would use these on any cards that have value. The binder will keep them safe, but over the years they will still get scratched and worn from not being in sleeves. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00NU5F7U0/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524175687&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=perfect+fit+card+sleeves

u/SmashPortal · 3 pointsr/magicTCG

I use the classic KMC perfect size inner sleeves. They hold the card very snug, so they fit in most normal sleeves.

They're generally sold for about $5.99 for 100 sleeves, but I've gotten deals on Amazon for buying bulk.

Actually, I use the perfect size sleeves for a lot of single-sleeving, since they're so tight to the card and are completely translucent on both sides. All of my trade foils are inside them to prevent scratching, and to act as an inner sleeve in the binder page pockets.

u/YouthfulEdge · 3 pointsr/pkmntcg

You are using the wrong size of perfect fits. You need these: https://www.amazon.com/KMC-pochettes-Barrier-Komainu-Dou-Original/dp/B00NU5F7U0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1517708010&sr=8-1&keywords=kmc+perfect+fit

They are standard size for MTG and Pokemon. I play with KMC perfect fit inner sleeves and dragon shield outers. My deck is all reverse holo, holo, or full art. No warps at all.

u/Theopholus · 3 pointsr/pkmntcg

I would recommend using KMC Perfect Fit sleeves. They are great for double sleeving, and for storing cards in a binder. Also, make sure not to use a 3 ring binder with the loose ultra pro plastic pages, the rings can damage your cards over time. Use a side loading binder like This.

u/SnickySnacks · 2 pointsr/dropmix

So it looks like the cards are 63.5mm by 88mm.

If I wanted to be parnoid and double sleeve these, I would want to get like this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00NU5F7U0/ref=pd_aw_sbs_21_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8VQXF982X03W9S802FQJ&dpPl=1&dpID=91M2EcBE4oL

And this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CJ7415M/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1505029013&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=kmc+sleeves&dpPl=1&dpID=51OK7ekmj2L&ref=plSrch

Does that look right?

Any suggestions on card cases to hold the whole collection? The dragon shield boxes seem to hold 100 or 400 cards, but reviews aren't clear if I can stuff all 300 cards in there double sleeved, since it makes them a bit thicker. Any suggestions on a box that will hold the entire season's set of cards?

Or am I overthinking it and should just get like a generic white cardboard box?

And be sure to get your hands on sleeves. There are a lot of different ones. I'll tell you the ones I use once I'm home :)

Edit:

Regular Soft Card Sleeves These are the regular sleeves. They are a little bit bigger than the cards

Perfect Fit Sleeves These sleeves perfectly fit the cards with almost no space at the sides.

I combine them with the regular sleeves. I use them upside down so that the opening is at the bottom at the card and then put them into a regular sleeve. So it's 100% protected from dust

I put them into a binder after that so there is not too much exposure too the sunlight

You've received some great advice. Here's my take (after watching countless hours of the Professor on Tolarian Community College youtube channel).

  • The ultra pro deck boxes are a great start!
  • For about the same price, try out the ultra pro 'pro-dual' deck box. It holds two decks (or one deck plus dice/counters) all in one convenient spot! (link)
  • The elite trainer boxes are a great value, and the box is excellent for storing cards. You can put cards in directly (like the picture provided above) or you can even fit the Ultra Pro deck boxes inside. (link
  • The elite trainer box also includes card sleeves that you can use to protect your kids' deck. These are not the strongest sleeves, but they look great and are much better than nothing. If the kids are yanking cards in and out of these they may get beat up pretty quickly, so you'll have to decide if it's worth using sleeves at this point.
  • Inner sleeves (or penny sleeves) are clear transparent sleeves. These will provide a bit of protection and can be used permanently (no need to ever take them out of these). Cards sleeved with these can then be 'double sleeved' in the bigger outer sleeves (like the ones included in the elite trainer box) for maximum protection. Inner sleeves are slick so trying to use them without an outer sleeve may prove difficult as the cards will slide around and not stack well. (link)

Good luck! Check out the Professor if you really want to go deep! His 'report card' is great!

For my high value cards, I double sleeve them. First I load them top first into perfect fit sleeves, then load them bottom first into a larger sleeve like the ETB sleeves. I like the extra shine from the silver on the ETB sleeves and they're nice and big. Then, they go in a top loader.

For any mid-range cards I at least put them in a single sleeve.

At a minimum, you should be putting cards you care about into sleeves and then a top loader. Putting the open end of the sleeve down into the top loader would definitely be better to protect against dust or accidental water exposure.

u/ClassH · 2 pointsr/legendarymarvel

A lot of people recommend sleeves that are a bit bigger than the card and I dont know why. I tried quite a few and hated them. Then I found KMC perfect fit, they are still cheap but fit the cards almost exact, barely tell they are there.

hello friend, that's awesome that you have your own copy of MK. Are you shuffling cards via bending method? If so I'd try to stray from that if possible.

The KMC perfect fit sleeves are amazing. Here's the exact amazon like to the ones I ordered. There are 240 cards so this gives you 60 extra. Link

I'm waiting on coolstuffinc or amazon to stock the Lost Legion

It’s better to get perfect fit cards meant for double sleeving which would fit inside of traditional sleeves. The advantage is that if any liquid spills the double sleeved cards won’t be affected at all. It has saved my ass so I double sleeve important cards and the deck I play with.

really....? http://www.ultrapro.com/product_info.php?products_id=1075 i have these kinds that i use for all my rares/holos/full arts... ALSO, i recently ordered these yesterday because i heard their were perfect for the Rares: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NU5F7U0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Should i switch to the KMC Perfect fits when they arrive and avoid the Ultra Pro sleeves then?

u/abaloneyhasnoname · 1 pointr/pkmntcgcollections

While you may not be pricing the cards, using the pricing guide on tcgplayer.com is a good place to start organizing specific sets. It can also give you a general market value for all conditions as you are organizing. If you see the market value on a specific card is much higher than others in the set, you should consider protecting that one with penny and hard sleeves(or depending on the card, perhaps more than that). If you are going to store your cards in binders, i recommend these sleeves for inside sleeves and these sleeves for the outside soft sleeve prior to putting in a binder like this or like this.

u/DragoBrokeMe · 1 pointr/boardgames

I love sleeving cards for my games! Love the feel and I actually double sleeve (these then these for regular sized cards) and generally do it while it while watching TV some night, so it's not like I have to give up time to sleeve.

u/reaper527 · 1 pointr/magicTCG

for my decks, i typically use art sleeves such as these. since art sleeves have a tendency to be hard to get the same sleeves a year or two down the road, this means i'll pick up an extra pack when i'm making a deck so if sleeves tear on me, i'll be covered.

as such, this means i have plenty of extra sleeves that i can throw in binders. i'll throw my cards in a perfect fit, then throw that in one of my art sleeves, and put that in my side load binder.

u/GrimSanto · 1 pointr/dropmix

Oh nice, I am totally getting that case. Thanks for the info. I ended up going with these sleves -KMC 100 pochettes Card Barrier Perfect Size Soft Sleeves, 3 Packs
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NU5F7U0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They fit the card just right.

u/bubbafry · 1 pointr/magicTCG

Sure, anytime. My personal preference for my valuable cards is to double sleeve them, then put them in a binder.

For the inner sleeve I use KMC Perfect Fits
https://www.amazon.com/KMC-pochettes-Barrier-Komainu-Dou-Original/dp/B00NU5F7U0

For the outer sleeve, I use KMC Hyper Matte Sleeves.

https://www.amazon.com/KMC-Hyper-Matte-Sleeves-Sheets/dp/B00VCQXQAW

Dragon Shields are probably the most popular play sleeves, but I find them a bit tight when double sleeving them, and if you're not playing with them I think the actual sleeve you use probably doesn't matter as much.

Then whichever binder you like. I like the Ultimate Guard ones, there some other good ones out there also.

u/Bryanfisto · 1 pointr/magicTCG

I sleeve all of the tokens my deck uses to protect the surface (for cosmetic and consistency reasons, not because I care about a <$0.01 "card"). I use KMC "perfect fits" because they're cheap in bulk, fit snug to the card, and make the surface more slippery for moving the cards around.

u/Reposer · 1 pointr/PokemonTCG

Second in regards to protecting it - the best method would be a perfect sleeve followed by any form of deck protector and then into a toploader - and of course keep it in a dark place that's relatively temperate, if possible.

In regards to your question - it really just depends on if you need money now or not. It will rise in value as time goes on for sure, so if you're not hard up just keep it.

u/The_Last_Raven · 1 pointr/PokemonTCG

KMCs are ones that Magic players use and should work well as inner sleeves for double sleeving. My personal preference is to use KMC Hyper Mattes and over KMC perfect sleeves for inners.

I go through a TON of sleeves for MtG (play pokemon casually), so those are what I use for tournament play and the $56 is well worth it for me.

Edit: If you want to see more about sleeves for reviews, I suggest watching the Professor's channel here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bu1h0gtu2U&list=PLvqw7t0kbGX9ZlOrr9sqD8zGGPuEIfeBz

Primarily for MtG, but all of the sleeves he reviews generally are kosher for tourney play.

I use these sleeves, and they work great. KMC 100 pochettes Card Barrier Perfect Size Soft Sleeves are what they're called.
Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/KMC-pochettes-Barrier-Komainu-Dou-Original/dp/B00NU5F7U0

My cards don't slide around at all. They're very snug in the sleeve. I can take a picture for you, if you'd like.

u/traceurling · 1 pointr/magicTCG

Sorry I'm a little confused, are you offering the KMC Hyper Matte Black or the KMC Perfect Fit, I'd trade for either but I'm more interested in the Hyper Mattes.
