Or just to practice with the crutches. Most people aren't going to be good with them immediately.
Buy or rent a broken foot scooter, they make getting around so much easier (I hate crutches and even with a walking cast it's a pain).
The scooters work great, you can kneel on your broken foot and scoot along. You can also sit and keep your foot elevated when stationary.
