Why not pick yourself up something like this? The evaporative ones don't work at ALL but these refrigerative ones are quite good, just a tube out the window and it dumps the heat. I don't own the place where I live so I wanted to buy something I could take with me or sell when I left, now I can't live without it. Amazing for 1 room. Just make sure it isn't evaporative.
