Looks like Foxx has expanded his line a bit! I haven't seen these posted yet, so my apologies if everyone is sick and tired of gear photos.

The UFC is a Koolertron Single-Handed Programmable Mechanical Keyboard - $70 on Amazon in USA. I had some spare keycaps and printed the text on a sheet of sticker paper.

Hotas = VKB Gunfighter Pro + TMW grip and the TMW Throttle. MCG Pro should be here Friday too. I guess it is upgrade week for me...

Everything else should look familiar.

If by vertical you mean ortholinear, thenKoolertron has one that looks to be decent for the price.

Are there any 1 handed macro keypads with fully rebindable buttons via software or something?

My friend has a corsair keyboard and has begun binding the macro keys to play sound effects and is considering getting another keyboard just to bind sfx to.

I'm looking for something to get him that is just a keypad but with keys rebindable to macros rather than being just a numpad.

I found this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B076LRJ528/, but it doesn't look very trustworthy and I couldn't even find the software for download.

Is there anything like this from a reputable company?

It's a Koolertron 48-key macro keypad. Each key is fully configurable.

Hmmm that's weird. I have this one, which has a mini-b port, and I use it with my 2017 MB12r, which also only has USB-C (and just one port! thanks, apple!). I've plugged the keypad directly into the MB using a USB-C to mini-B cable, and I've also plugged the keypad into a USB hub (via the cable that came with the keypad - USB-A to mini-B), with the hub plugged into one of these.

Maybe contact the seller? Koolertron is pretty responsive. I contacted them about the Fn1/Fn2 functionality not working under MacOS and they confirmed after a couple days.

I was thinking of investing in a special keyboard just for macros and keyboard shortcuts that you could program onto any key, basically a dedicated Turking keyboard. I really want something with keys that are pretty uniform in position too, and this one for $70 is looking like a pretty good fit. I'll give it a shot in a few weeks and see how it holds up.

Something like this would be cool as hell, but I think looking for it to be built into the game is the wrong approach. There are plenty of gaming mice (mouses?) and keyboards available with custom programming software that can handle this better than ArenaNet could.

Just imagine a Tuesday game update that breaks the F1 keybind for all Mesmers, and they can't fix it until Friday. I will go ahead and confess that I'd be cheering in PvP lobby! But for everyone else this would be devastating. UGH! >:O

Those interested may want to check out Logitech's line of... meese, particularly the G600 MMO mouse. It has a third mouse button on the far right - the "G" key - that enables you to change the functionality of all the other buttons. For example, let's say you have the 1 - 5 buttons on the side of the mouse bound to your F1 - F5 skills. You could set it up so that when you press and hold the G key those 1 - 5 buttons instead correspond to 5 of your mounts. Release the G key and you're back to your F-skills. There are a lot of great possibilities.

The same is true for keyboards, though a nice gaming keyboard with single key customization is hella expensive, you can get a small macro pad for pretty cheap. I have a Logitech G13 keypad - which I did not buy for $299 - that is great for this purpose. You can get it used for cheap on eBay. I also have a Max Falcon 8 keypad that I use for mass copy-pasting at the office, but it's a pain in the ass to program. Recently I've been looking at Koolertron's keypad on Amazon as an upgrade.

Good luck!

I just got one of these for this exact purpose: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076LRJ528/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_CzWKBbVN570QQ

This one looks like a good option with Bluetooth: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CQG7DLR/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_jyWKBbEE4Y567

That said, you don’t necessarily need a programmable keypad, since Clip Studio allows you to customize every keyboard shortcut. You could potentially get any bluetooth keypad.

Windows is built in with Speech Recognition. I haven't messed with it, but I'm sure it works OK.

Also, you could get a gaming keyboard like a Logitech G13 with macro programmable buttons and fix up what ever you like.

I looked into programmable 'decks' a while back, found this.

I just found this and am not sure if I'm horrified or impressed.

I'm trying to avoid buying an expensive control desk for theatre lighting control.

I found this as a partial solution:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076LRJ528/?coliid=I1ZWKFTY2J4AJX&colid=232N6M1ND2WEJ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I was thinking I could get one of these as a "cue go" button:

https://pimpmykeyboard.com/dsa-2x2-block-key/

(and a 2x1 above it for a "back"button)

I'm not a mech keyboard enthusiast - Is there any obvious problems I should be watching out for? Any reason that won't work etc? Product recommendations? Thoughts in general?

(Is it against the rules to ask if anyone has old / unwanted / non-matching caps they don't want?)

I'm in NZ but can get stuff redirected from the US (eventually). Looking to spend as little as possible obvs.

TL;DR: I want to buy a programmable keyboard to control theatre lighting software - any pitfalls / traps to avoid?

Currently looking for a keypad to use for productivity macros. Needs a good number of buttons (25+), and maybe thumbstick / scroll wheel / rotary encoder but that's extra.

Used to use a Razer Orbweaver, which I loved because of the form factor, thumbstick, and buttons, but Razer products are really starting to piss me off (so many goddamn RMAs).

Was taking a look at the Koolertron 48 key keypad, but I'm sure you folks know of some better options.

This is a very nice solution. I would not be able to take advantage of the display on VR so I was looking at something similar with this Koolertron https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076LRJ528/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_pEJlDbWPJWJFW
