I'd recommend the Lamy Safari, if you live in Europe. It costs under 15 euros on amazon.de. Downside is you'd have to buy a converter separately, but it's still under 20€ for years of writing and a fun hobby (provided you're willing to buy ink from time to time)

Well I certainly wouldn't want to ruin my first impression of fountain pens, but as someone new to them, it does look a tad intimidating.

Does being left handed affect how well I'd be able to use it?
