They usually come stuck together as one unit with 2 sockets - like this one on amazon

Sometimes you can get single outlets in one device box, but this looks like a double based on the location of the plate screw.

To prevent this from happening again I should use a hospital grade receptacle instead? The one I was using was this one


Perhaps I installed it poorly with the wire pressed up against the back of the receptacle?


Also to note I was using a Belkin Wemo Insight smart plug, and have heard many people claiming that their insight smart plug had caused to melt and burn up. Is that the main culprit?


I used to have the same wattage output of 1550-1590 watt continuous on a different receptacle connected to the same circuit breaker without any problems for months, the only difference here is I used a new receptacle and used the belkin wemo insight smart plug
