When it comes to earning a living, you really have two options: you can either find a job, or you can find your vocation. The latter typically takes a good amount of time and an incredible amount of self-awareness and self-actualization. Finding your vocation depends a lot on your abilities, your access to opportunity, your support system, your level of social mobility, your openness to experience, and your excitement about the world around you, among other things.

Did you notice how young and almost child-like Jiro seemed despite his age? That's no coincidence. I personally believe the most successful people who love life and their occupation have a child-like sense of wonder, awe, and affinity for "play" that many others simply lose as they age. Another really good example that springs to mind is Robert Herjavec on the show Shark Tank. Just look at how his face lights up and how excited he gets over the different presentations. He has a very "wondrous" quality to him that, say, Mr. Wonderful doesn't even come close to exhibiting.

Anyway, I'm kinda rambling. Two resources (among many) that I would highly recommend that have personally inspired me to quit my job and start my own company are the book Life is What You Make It by Peter Buffett, Warren Buffett's son, and this speech by Alan Watts. I think both of these will bring you closer to finding your answer.

Finally, you're still young, and to be asking questions like your age means you're on the right path, and you're already ahead of most of your peers. Best of luck to you.

I read this book while camping last summer and quite like it. You might find some guidance within it.
