My bad they're 7"
The 8" ones are better as they will up the inside of the MFD.. I used velcro to hold the MFD in front of it.
I mainly used this setup with DCS World in the A-10 and had the MFDs on the side and the aircraft instruments on the bottom center screen.
If you're ok with non-pi hardware, this looks plug and play https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000AYHY7I/

Just duct tape it to the front, you'll be fine.
Lilliput mini monitor? It will work with pretty much any computer.
I have a crash cart bag handy for random issues

And don't forget at least 1 tiny led flashlight :)
Razer sells a laptop with a touchpad/screen like that; http://i.imgur.com/N8M0tvW.png
I own their standalone keyboard that has it in it too -- it's not as useful as it seems. It's definitely novel enough to use occasionally, but it's so often at such a drastically different angle from your primary display that it just doesn't pan out the way you'd hope.
Something like this might get you a little closer to what you actually want though!
Is there a weight limit? Could you use something like this http://www.amazon.com/Lilliput-Um-70-Monitor-non-touch-Screen/dp/B000AYHY7I ?
