Weighted Mice Since he did not give you a link I will.

u/qak · 23 pointsr/talesfromtechsupport

That is the old model. Get the newer much cheaper version to save some money https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Adjustable-Weight-Tuning/dp/B00CJD4HD2

As pointed out, that is not the correct link for the g502, this is https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00IRHE892/

I swear by my Logitech G500S. It doesn't look crazy, and has enough functionality to appeal to anyone. The adjustable weight is super cool too. Amazon Link

SENSITIVITY
---------------------------------

Sens is personal preference, and that's just the end of it. Here you have clockwork playing with 20"+/360, and then yz50 with a much higher sens. And they are both in Invite, and have different playstyles.

In the end, NEITHER is objectively better than the other. You can even use 1cm/360 in COUNTER-STRIKE, if you wanted to. Here's the issue...

Higher sens has a steeper learning curve.

It's much different using only your fingers to make the smallest of movements, compared to sliding your whole arm across the mousepad.

As higher sens is... well... more sensitive... there's a much larger chance you can make errors.

BUT.

This can easily be overcome with practice. Though you might spend more time training to be able to headshot soldiers out of the air with a high sens compared to a low sens, it is the same in the end.

I want you to choose a sensitivity that's COMFORTABLE for you. Don't fall into the idea that "lower is objectively better" from CS. I can assure you, it's not.

MICE
-----------------------

If you haven't already, pick up a nice mouse. Forget "positive acceleration" or "negative acceleration." I know it's a controversial stance, but choose a mouse that is COMFORTABLE, and is accurate based on what you can tell. If you can't tell a G500 has accel, and think it's just as accurate as a Zowie FK, then you can get it! If you aren't comfortable, your performance will go down.

That means no stock mice.

Make sure it won't malfunction if you swing it too fast. I don't mean at 100 miles per hour, but judge it based on the FASTEST turn you would ever do. In order to test this, I'd temporarily use clockwork's sensitivity and try to do a 360. If the mouse malfunctions (tracks oddly or keeps going after you've stopped moving) it's no good.

Laser or optical. Doesn't matter to be completely honest, as long as you're comfortable.

Some pretty good ones:

  • CM STORM SPAWN Small little mouse, great for claw grip. Rubber grips, Omrons, perfect tracking, the usual. Notable users: Platinum

  • [Logitech G500s] (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Adjustable-Weight-Tuning/dp/B00CJD4HD2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394935251&sr=8-1&keywords=g500) A huge palm grip mouse. It's laser, but some people like Taggerung love it. Comfortable, and widely available. Notable users: Taggerung

  • Zowie FK Some say it has the best tracking of any mouse ever created. Sensei-style small-ish mouse, claw/fingertip grip. Mine comes in the mail the 20th. However, not widely available. Try a Sensei to get an idea of how this feels. Notable users of it's predecessor: cookye

  • Logitech G400s Typical, super-ergonomic overengineered palm-grip mouse from Logitech. Perfect sensor. Inspired by the fabled MX518. If you hear about issues with the cable, Logitech has excellent customer service and will help you out in a heartbeat. Notable users: enigma, ruwin, PYYOUR, TLR, b4nny

I'm going to say to keep away from Razer mice. Had a couple bad experiences with them. Like when my Deathadder from 3 months ago broke when I was just browsing Reddit... (Piece that contacted with the Omron Switch snapped... in half.)

    Choose what works for you.

    MOUSE SETTINGS
    ---------------------------

Mouse accel. Mouse accel. Unless you're dead set on it, like Swag from Complexity, turn it off. TF2 doesn't have linear acceleration, so the learning curve for it is ridiculous.

Turn it off in both TF2's settings AND Windows (Enhance Pointer Precision)

This will improve your consistently drastically.

Throw on Raw Input to bypass all of the strange calculations Windows puts on mice.

Keep Windows Sens to 6/11, so the computer won't have to "scale" your movements up or down.

    "BODYSHOTTING IS FOR LOSERS"
    -----------------------------------

Go ahead and sit on your scope. If you don't feel confident you can hit the target, aim for center mass, charge the scope up, and fire. Who cares, if that bodyshot gets you a pick on the enemy med?

This also leads up to playing passively. Some snipers DO play this way. Watching chokes. Not being inside them. I'm one of them. This will alleviate tons of stress, and it will really reduce the chance that you can get killed. How's a scout supposed to reach you if you're on Roof on Badwater, and he can't see you?

    MOST IMPORTANT THING
    ------------------------------

Chill out. Listen to some music. Remember games are meant to have fun, not stress over. If you're having a rough day on Sniper, switch it up! Scout's a good way to practice hitscan without actually playing Sniper. Taunt after every kill. Throw in a huntsman every once in a while.

Once you begin to become great at Sniper, it'll be second nature. And you'll genuinely enjoy the class too.

Oh, and getting accused of hacking. Get to that level, and it's the most hillarious thing in TF2.

    Oh.

    And...

Practice... A lot. Many good Snipers have hundreds of hours on that class. It will fall into place in time.

    And be confident.

All-Time low if CCC is anything to go by.

Shipping is a good $8 or so though so you might as well just stuff some addon-items in there to get it over $35 if you don't have prime. This 32-pack of Pop Tarts will bump it up to $35.49 so you'll get free shipping, just make sure you choose "one time purchase" :D

u/ANUS_ANNIHILATOR · 4 pointsr/gamingpc

Right now on amazon it's $39.99, $2 more than its cheapest price record on CamelCamelCamel.com. Iv'e been following this mouse for a month, so I naturally decided to share it with yall who are interested in buying a solid gaming mouse with a $50 or under budget.

I'd back this up. I've owned the G5 and currently own the G500s. The 400s and 500s are pretty similar, with the 500s having a higher DPI (4000 on the 400s up to 8200 on the 500s IIRC), two extra buttons, and the ability to add extra weights. Both right in your price range.

I cannot recommend the Logitech G500S enough. It really is just fantastic.

One thing with mentioning while on your search: I've found that a good mouse pad makes a surprising difference in gaming. Make sure you've got both!

u/mynthe · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
  1. I really want this mouse because I am currently using a wireless mouse and it dies midway while using it sometimes even though it's not low on battery. It would be terrible if that happens during mid-raid!! u/AlbusGrumbledore recommended it because you can adjust the weight on it to one that is most comfortable for you. There are extra buttons for keybinding spells onto, but it doesn't have 1849074907 of them to overwhelm you with, unlike some Razer models.

  2. The other thing I would like to have is this chic looking hoodie jacket. I want a new hoodie because my old hoodies are all pretty worn out, and the office has the temperature set to something crazy cold these days. This also look nice enough to be worn on my trip to Ireland/Venice in April :)

  3. The last item that I'd want, but not necessarily need at all... THIS AWESOME WOW MONOPOLY :D Look at the tokens!! They are so adorable!

Those are the only 3 items I can think of at the moment. Maybe you might find them useful for you too! <3

I like the G500: link

u/ROKITF1NGR · 3 pointsr/pcgaming

G500s is the updated model, half the price too.

Also for OP, I got the G400 a couple years ago and have had no complaints other than I wish it had a braided cable.

u/CowFu · 3 pointsr/blenderhelp

Most professional artist I've seen uses a trackball for fine-tune control. Like the logitech 570

But if you're looking for a standard mouse, I'd suggest the G500s and really load up the optional weight so you get better control. link

u/construktz · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

if it makes you feel any better, honestly I own a Logitech G500s and have jammed it into a laptop case and taken it EVERYWHERE! Including Italy when I threw the laptop bag into the top of my suitcase and sent it on its way while I boarded the plane. It never did any damage to it.

If you really need a case for it, the CASEBUDi Mouse Travel Case looks like a hard shell option for you to put wherever you want, or clip it on the side of your bag.

u/Josiah621 · 2 pointsr/makemychoice

See if you can find the g500s at one of your local stores.. I know u can ordered it in from online though. The g500s is just the newer version of the g500. 2 side buttons, 3 dps settings and a locking scroll wheel. Only mouse I've used for the past 6 years. Gone through 2 of them, plus it's weighted, so I can have it heavier or lighter which I think is one of its best features because I prefer a heavier mouse. Any who, g500s check it out http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Adjustable-Weight-Tuning/dp/B00CJD4HD2

Edit: says I ordered it on March of 2014...so almost 2 years and the only wear on it is from the wrapping around the cable fraying from rubbing on my keyboard tray

u/TheDyingSun · 2 pointsr/pcgaming

Logitech G500S. I love it.

u/escape_your_destiny · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Hey another G5 user! I still use mine too! I'm upgrading soon too, so I've been researching mice lately.

Look into the Logitech 402. It's not as crazy looking as the 502, and it also doesn't have the dual mode scroll wheel. But it doesn't have a tilt wheel, only the 502 does.

You can also still buy the 400s and the 500s.

u/k5josh · 2 pointsr/pcgaming

I have pretty big hands and use a logitech g500. It's definitely my favorite mouse ever. The g500s (link) is almost identical but half the price.

u/f3arTheDoc · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

My favourite mouse used to be the Logitech M500, but Staples had the G500s on clearance, so I switched (wanted on-the-fly DPI settings)

u/Tezliov · 2 pointsr/DotA2

I have a Logitech G500s, works great for Dota. Has 5 extra buttons, plus you can bind stuff to scroll click right/left. $49 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Adjustable-Weight-Tuning/dp/B00CJD4HD2

I wouldn't bind stuff for Dota onto the sideways mouse wheel click, though. Especially not if you use the middle mouse button for scrolling. Sometimes when you press the middle button down it registers it as a sideways click too.

u/ShazbotSimulator2012 · 2 pointsr/hockeyquestionmark

Logitech G500s

The free scrolling feature is great for hockey?. You click a little button at the base of the mouse wheel and it switches between normal scrolling and free scrolling where the mouse wheel spins freely without the stops. It lets you do some interesting things like spin the wheel quickly enough to pass/shoot with just the rotation of your stick.

It also comes with weights if you want a heavier mouse for some reason, though it's already fairly heavy without them.

Adjustable DPI up to 8200 if that's your cup of tea.

You can also bind macros to any of the buttons which is pretty useless for hockey aside from binding spacebar to the same key multiple times to jump really high.

u/a1blank · 2 pointsr/pcgaming

The mouse OP linked to is $20, the G700s is listed at $70. Totally worth it, though. And if OP can tolerate wired, the G500s is another good option at $50.

u/RAWR_time · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Yeah, same. I had to get a new mouse over the summer because the left click on mine was starting to wear down and click when it wasn't supposed to. I got this mouse and I love it. Super sturdy, adjustable weight & DPI. It also still fits the blue color scheme! :D

u/mithikx · 1 pointr/Stargate

Holy crap, my G5 lasted only 1.5 years or so (the wire at the base of the mouse becomes frayed, same for the G9. Then I got the G700 and that thing has lasted for years since it has a more resilient removable wire.

The G400s and G500s are the latest iteration of the G5/G500/MX500/MX510 shaped gaming mice if you happen to be seeking another one.

The G600 is a good MMO mouse if that's what you need, and the G700s is a superb gaming mouse if you need more buttons but not a number pad adhered to your mouse (the G700s runs data off a wired connection when plugged in).

Can't vouch for their other models aside from the MX Master which is more of a work mouse, and a great one at that.

I'm a logitech fanboy though but I'm happy with all their products. They have a newer version of what i linked. It's redesigned but it's mostly the same. Although it has fancy leds. Of course you could also buy the wireless but i don't think it's worth the extra moneys.

u/fewjative · 1 pointr/gadgets

I've been using the Logitech G500 and the upgraded G500s for the past 6? years and have thoroughly liked them and would not consider any other mice. The G500 lasted me 4 years and I am on my second year of use with the G500s. They are of excellent build quality and it definitely did not look like my mouse was 4 years old(unlike with all of the razer products I've used - none even made it 4 years too). You can pick one up from Amazon for 75$ (I bought mine on sale for 50$ or so). http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Adjustable-Weight-Tuning/dp/B00CJD4HD2

Personally, I've gotten the best benefit out of the Logitech G500s. I've used the Raptor, other Logitech mice, a basic Microsoft one, a few different Razer mice, and another one I'm blanking on right now.

What I've found is, that as long as you have a decent mouse pad (big and clean), it really comes down to a basic quality of a mouse (high polling rate, wired, etc), and your preferences for mouse weight, grip, and button feedback.

That being said, after lots of experience using many mice over a long period of time (over 8 years), the Logitech G500s is a clear winner for me. I'm a bit of a gaming mice enthusiast and I'd like to try a lot of other ones. I'll probably add the EC1-A to my list of mice I'd like to try out. Thanks for your post. Good luck with your aim training!

u/iTakeOff · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

Well, it depends. What budget do you have? Do you want a mouse that's more flashy or subtle? Or one with programmable buttons?

The Logitech G100S is a decent mouse that's relatively subtle and also relatively cheap.

If you have plenty of money to spend, I'd look at the Logitech G700S. It's basically an upgrade from the G100S, same mouse, but more ergonomical + reprogrammable keys and it can be wireless or wired. (I've been using this one for just over a year now, can personally vouch for this)

The G500S I feel is a good comprimise between the two, however I haven't owned one so I can't really vouch for it but it's fairly popular.

I can't really speak for other brands as I've only ever used Logitech, but you can refer to this for cheap, decent gaming mice. The brands are generally very reliable as well (Although I'd stay away from Razer if I were you, they seem to break often but send it back and you'll get a replacement for free)

EDIT: Added links

u/BobSevenEleven · 1 pointr/gaming

I use Logitech G500s and I love it. I don't play many MMORPG games and don't play LoL so I can't speak to those games. I like being able to set the weight and being able to change the sensitivity on the fly. The free scrolling wheel is nice from time to time too.

u/mbbird · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Do you know if this is similar in grip to the G500?

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Adjustable-Weight-Tuning/dp/B00CJD4HD2

u/LogitechG_Christina · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

If you're looking for a super-accurate mouse for FPS gaming, the G400s (MSRP 49.99 pounds) or G100s (34.99) are great. G300 (34.99 is a good ambidextrous, general gaming mouse.

If you're looking for a mouse that's slightly older but still awesome, the G500s and G500 might be right up your alley if your budget is tight. Look around your favorite sites for them (I used the US Amazon pages so you can get an idea on the specs). I've used the G500 for years, and the adjustable weights, on-mouse DPI shifting and the programmable buttons are all great.

The wide range of DPIs and tuning to various surfaces are G502-only traits.

What sort of gaming do you do? What would you like to get out of your new mouse?

u/somecleverphrase · 1 pointr/buildapc

I had a question about mouses. (I didn't see a mouse sub or I would bug them) How can you tell if a mouse is decent or over priced? Like I have that $30(not on sale price) off any steel series mouse But Buildapcsales had this mouse for $39.99. Any ideas? Do you guys know of any better for around $40?

u/jinatsuko · 1 pointr/WildStar

Yeah, but the Razer Naga mice are too light for me. I prefer a heavy mouse, though. I usually use all the heaviest (4.5g * 6 for my current mouse) nodes on the adjustable weight mice. I currently have a Logitech G500s and I like it quite a bit. Unfortunately, I bought it like two weeks before they dropped the G502s which I think I would have liked better. You will typically get higher polling rates on wired mice, but don't avoid wireless mice just because they are wireless. The tech is up to the point where there is not really a discernible increase in response time (assuming normal condition, and you aren't using the mouse from across the house with 16 microwaves being used at once.)

u/JimmyHopkins47 · 1 pointr/buildapc

My Logitech G500 is dying. I know of the G500s, but should I look into the G502? They all feel good to me and are a good size, but I use the fingertip grip.

u/AudibleKnight · 1 pointr/wow

Coming from someone who uses something like a Logitech G500 (although I haven't programmed any of the buttons on the mouse) along with re-binding abilities to letters around WASD, I have to ask: wouldn't your hand cramp up constantly mashing the buttons with your thumb on the Naga? Also, if you have all your keybinds on your mouse, is your left hand strictly for WASD movement, or is there something else?

u/Vacation_Flu · 1 pointr/tall

Anything with this formfactor from Logitech.

They've been making mice of that form factor on and off for the last ~10 years. Periodically, they'll discontinue it, then bring it back. I've had 3 mice that shape, and they always fit my hand perfectly.

u/Galexlol · 1 pointr/LOLDyrus

Oh whoopsieeeeeee lol welp adding it here could be a good idea but i guess that's fine too :D

so yeah www.twitch.tv/tsm_dyrus for your answers, it's the same mouse that i use now, just the upgraded version

and this is my "new" one

so yeah, seems like dyrus didn't stand for the low sensitivity of the right click, maybe the proteus core fixes it, i'll try it from amazon maybe. Thanks!

u/CaptainScrambles · 1 pointr/gamingpc

Time for a new mouse, had the same thing happen with my Imperator and replaced it with a Logitech G500s and it's great, especially for the price. There's also the G502 which is a bit more but I'm hearing great things about.

u/Bandit1379 · 1 pointr/Planetside

Post the mouse you are using. If you're using some sort of terrible generic one that has awful dpi & sensitivity and no way to adjust anything, getting a ~$60 gaming mouse could change everything for you, in-game sensitivity options can only do so much. I'm loving my G500s (aside from the other 3 G500 mice Logitech sent me before this then replaced because of cable problems...)

Other than that, what others have said. Practice.

u/ConfusedTapeworm · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Logitech G500s.

3 extra buttons on the side(not supported by all games out there), frictionless mode for the wheel, adjustable DPI, adjustable weight and a beautiful finish. It's the same as the old g500 except the sensor is improved and the finish is different. The g500 is the best mouse I've ever used.

u/MaeArscelin · 0 pointsr/ffxiv

What items are eligible seems to be hit or miss. I've been wanting to get a new mouse, so was thinking I could possibly do it through this promo. But some gaming mice are included, while others are not.
