With that small of a budget you're stuck in the realm of Logitech 2.1 PC speakers. A Logitech 2.1 setup got me through my college days though and I'm sure many others as well.

Pretty much any other powered speaker or even a decent desktop 2.1 speaker set should be sufficient for jamming along in your bedroom.

If your guitar is so loud you can't hear the music and play along with something like this that's pushed up kinda hot you're practicing too loud and will be deaf soon.

I think you read too much into my point. An amp like the Fender Frontman 10G is designed specifically for noobs who are buying their first guitar. It is NOT good value for the money and it is not worth buying. At $80 CDN, you'd be better off to buy these:

40 Watts RMS, much better dynamic range and a piece of gear that you will grow IN-TO instead of OUT-OF.

And yeah, my point about tube stacks is that they sound nice when driven hard, but unless you're heating up those tubes and pulling lots of power, you're not getting much of the benefits of tubes. And most gigs, starting out, you're probably mic'ing drums, but front of house and stage monitors cannot compete with a full stack on 9.

A secondhand amp, for $200, is a very useable amp, that you will never part with. A Fender frontman 10G will go from $80.00 to $10.00 the minute you bring it home.

There's a cheap set of Logitechs with a sub and dial for like 55 that I use but ideally I would like the razer cylindrical ones for the aesthetic.

I got these because they look simple and undistracting, function well at the volume I like to listen at, and included a dial.

Forgive my ignorance, I don't know much about speakers. When you say powered? I'm not entirely sure what the difference is.

$70 for a good audio setup is going to tough. With that budget you're going to be very limited buying new. If you happen to score something from ebay or goodwill then maybe. However, it seems like you're going to be looking at PC speakers.

Since you don't have much room for speakers and you're not even sure where to put the subwoofer, you could get standard 2.0 bookshelf speakers like the Edifier R1280DB or Edifier R1280T (5.75in x 9.5in x 7in per speaker) if you don't care about the optical input, or the Logitech Z333 (Blutooth variant) if you prefer something similar to what you had before.

I never have used headphones through the controller to be honest. I put these in my cab, with the volume knob (with headphone jack) mounted on top behind the marquee. Not the cheapest option, but the subwoofer in the bottom of the cab and the speakers under the control deck really gives the cab a great rumble.

Ryzen stock cooler is good enough for most of their chips, but with the 2700X being 105W, I'd suggest a 280mm AIO.

1080Ti is also standard for 4k, and understand that you will not get 60FPS with everything maxed on that card. Ampere, Turing, whatever the new Nvidia cards will be called will most likely make that achievable.

That PSU also seems close to the minimum you'd want, maybe shoot for 800 or 850 to be safe.

Also, if you're looking for sound equipment suggestions, stepping up to the $50-$80 range will get you some far better speakers. The previous iteration, the Z333 speakers, are going for about $50.

I went with a different approach. I got a set of these speakers and this cable. I then ran that cable from the audio output on my monitor to the speakers and set the VM to use the monitor's audio. The speakers mix the audio with hosts audio so it's fairly seemless.

I would go one of two ways:

If you want a more accurate reproduction of sound for your personal listening environment, look into studio monitors. They will be more focused on clarity and use better components, like active crossovers. If you will ever be into any type of audio/video editing or really enjoy the finner detais, this is the ideal road.

So I'm looking for computer speakers and I see some with subwoofers such as the Logitech Z333 and some without such as the Bose Companion 2 Series III. I'm wondering why some sets have subwoofers and some don't. Would the ones without have a weak bass, if so why don't all systems have them? I'm going to be playing Metal and Hardcore punk, so I won't need to shake the house with bass, but I'd like to be able to evenly hear it, do speakers need subwoofers?
