I spent way too much time on this, but let's see how your claim plays out.

2. Akai MPK249 $400
2. Yamaha P71 $415
3. 21.5 inch iMac $1100 (although this is the base model, probably a good estimate)
3. Edifier R1280T Near Field Monitors $99
5. Asus 24" monitor $130x5=$650
4. Logitech G27 I'm going to say around $300, even though Amazon has it listed for nearly $1000. Seems like the MSRP a few years ago was $300-$400.

  1. Logitech G Saitek X52 Flight Control System $150
  2. Logitech C600 $30
  3. Opolar F401 $12
  4. Logitech G610 $90, although some versions on amazon are closer to $60
  5. (I couldn't figure out what the other keyboard is, but it's probably junk that the OP didn't spend a lot of money on.)
  6. Logitech Z623 $100 (I think these are right)
  7. HTC Vive $500
  8. Logitech Z-2300 $180 MSRP, I'm fairly certain that I'm wrong about this one though
  9. Wireless Xbox Controller $42

Add in like $1000 for each desk and $2000 for each computer we don't see (assuming there are two), that gets us to a total of $11,068.

There is a laptop bag stashed on the left side of the frame, so maybe it's a $9000 laptop.
u/Smirf311 · 11 pointsr/buildapc

If your budget is $100 then I believe you can do better than the Razer speakers. I would suggest either these Edefier or Logitech speakers. Unless he is only looking for aesthetics, these speakers will sound so much better. I would suggest the Logitech ones as the best though, they even come with a subwoofer.

[Have these, can recommend]

They're loud, boomy, and sound really wonderful.

I had also considered these

I don't use a sound card, just the integrated one on my motherboard, it does the job fine

u/wtcnbrwndo4u · 6 pointsr/audio

LOL retail price of $279 my ass. These things went for $80.

They're overall a pretty decent and cheap entry-level 5.1 system. It uses RCAs to connect the speakers to the amp, so you'd need RCA extenders if you need to space them out more. RCA extenders can lead to signal noise and quality loss, but it shouldn't be noticeable as long as you're not extending like 25 feet.

In terms of SQ, I personally think they sound muddy. The trebles/highs aren't very clear, especially when the subwoofer is turned up. It's not a sharp, crisp bass sound. I personally own the Z-5500 (the top end model in this speaker series) and obviously they are better, but you can distinctly hear the difference in the muddyness. It makes the X-530s sound like listening to the radio versus an MP3. Again, this is mostly when the lows overpowers the highs. So if you keep the subwoofer around halfway, it should sound fine.

If you need something cheap and simple, this will do the job. If you're looking for something with better SQ, spend more money. These 2.1 Logitech speakers are THX-certified and offer 200W. Booming bass, crisp highs/mids. $106 shipped on Amazon.

If you must get a 2.1, then I suggest getting the Logitech Z623. It is good for gaming, but not great for music. You can pick it up at Best Buy or Amazon for $99

If you want good sound quality for music, then I suggest either of the following systems in your budget:

Passive system:

Polk T15 Speakers - $70

Logitech Z623

I got the same sound system recently and I love it. The subwoofer is pretty big though.

u/Armsc · 4 pointsr/BudgetAudiophile

For bass heavy music you're going to need something with a sub...in this price point it's not going to happen except for some computer speaker sets. I would look at the following:

u/djdementia · 4 pointsr/Beatmatch

$300 isn't enough for good PA speakers unless you get really lucky on the used market.

I suggest you buy 2.1 computer speakers now for less and save up until your budget is closer to $600.

I recommend Logitech Z623: https://smile.amazon.com/Logitech-Powerful-Speaker-Consoles-Computers/dp/B003VAHYTG/?th=1

These will be loud enough for 20-30 person unpaid house party gigs. If you do get a paid gig then rent.

Logitech Z623 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VAHYTG/

I've used them often at my cousin who I gave them to, and they're decent enough, but they're just not close to even a mid-range (by my standards around $500-600) speaker/receiver setup. The sub is nice though.

u/Ken808 · 3 pointsr/SoundSystem

Not quite the right sub for this, but any Logitech speaker setup should do fine for your room. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VAHYTG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/LDClaudius · 3 pointsr/electronicmusic

Just recently installed new speakers on my PC. The speaker I picked up is a Logitech Z623. It sound incredible when I'm listening to Hyperreal. I could just sit down, chill and drink it all in while I'm doing other stuff in my room. In addition, I picked up new headphone. Mainly because my old headphones are getting dirty. I never used it for just listening to music, but I used it when I play multiplayer shooters. It has better sound quality and offer better stereo sound than most gaming headset. No more gaming headphones for me.

u/Yaboy-kushy · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 goes on sale every once in a while at /r/buildapcsales and lots of people say they've owned the set for 5-7+ years and rave about them. I just purchased mine and have yet to set it up. I like hearing/feeling bass with my noises and that's exactly what these do.

Logitech z623 also receive high praises from reviewers on clarity from all levels of volume without distortion. This set has an option for a Bluetooth adapter if that's your thing.

Just choose what fits your budget/setup and make sure it's a reputable brand; you'll do fine! Hope this helps.

u/sstarryyy · 3 pointsr/trap

Copying my post from the last time this was asked.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VAHYTG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This shit rattles my windows and shakes my bed frame even when the volume and bass knobs are in the middle as opposed to maxed out, so I think it should work well for you.

u/homosa_piens · 3 pointsr/india
u/g4r4e0g · 3 pointsr/cordcutters

I like these Logitech z623s, a sound bar might be okay, but I personally like having a subwoofer. You'd hook them up from your laptops audio out, although if it doesn't have a sound card out you'll need to buy a cheap adapter (like five bucks) to use the headphone out. Which you may want anyways, I use these to play music from my phone using it. Once you have it hooked up you can disable your TV's speakers.

You still will have movies with the volume differential. I think some movies don't balance their sound well.

A little above your budget but I think this is something kinda covers all bases without knowing your design sense, whether or not you want to OC etc. You can work from this and other posts here (and elsewhere on the interwebs) to switch up parts and get your final components.

EDIT: Changed CPU to Ryzen since it's cheaper (and therefore also mobo for compatibility). So now you can forego the CPU cooler and further reduce the cost as the 1600 comes with the Wraith Spire cooler. But I've let it remain in the above config.

u/zman0728 · 3 pointsr/hardstyle

If you want a complete system that's not crazy expensive but has a balanced soundstage, the Logitech Z623 system is a pretty safe bet. I have two friends who have an older model of this which has served them well for over four years now and they both listen to bass-heavy EDM.

When it comes to speakers/headphones, I really think you should just go to a store that carries some models you like and test it out yourself. What most people on the internet claim to be good could be the opposite of your ideal set-up, so always try to demo your system first!

u/Aleodor · 3 pointsr/NewTubers

Hi! For $100 budget I recommend you Logitech Z623 200 Watt Home Speaker System, 2.1 Speaker System (Black) (https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Z623-Speaker-System-Black/dp/B003VAHYTG). It has good reviews and a good price. Have a good day!

u/dreauxx · 2 pointsr/edmproduction

I mean, here's what I'm using.

LOL. Sorry.

Really though, I've got this

I also have two M-Audio BX5a monitors hooked up with that speaker set. Although the monitors themselves are..I guess somewhat capable of giving me those low frequency for my kicks and basses; that sub REALLY brings it all to life though. Helps me catch those lower frequencies when I EQ. I don't have anything audio-wise to show you, so take my word as you will.

I definitely recommend this set though, very affordable and fantastic sound for the budget.

These are, IMO, the best bang for your buck if you are looking for traditional 2.1 computer speakers. The bass is very, very satisfying and they get MUCH louder than you expect based on their size. I have 2 sets of these, and have 3 friends who have bought the same set after hearing mine.

u/jwoody7 · 2 pointsr/googlehome

Have 3 Google Homes, 3 minis. They sound OK to listen to music and are super convenient.

But my favorite that sound tremendous is a Logitech speaker set with a Chromecast audio. Speakers are $100, Chromecast Audio is like another $30. Sound is 20 Times as good as stand alone Google Home.

I'm looking for a semi-portable speaker (about the size of the Sonos Play 3 or 5, maybe) but I don't need any bells and whistles. No bluetooth, no wireless. All I want it to plug my phone or laptop (or whatever) into it and get decent, fairly loud audio.

Everything I'm finding is bluetooth. I don't need or want bluetooth, for a variety of reasons.

Does anyone make these that don't cost $300? I'm perfectly happy with my Logitech 2.1, but it's a PITA to carry around. I'd like to have a single unit that I could move to my enclosed porch, or have outside in good weather.

Thanks!

u/hiser · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

I have some ancient Creative I-Trigue 3400 speakers that I've been using for nearly 10 years now. Would the Z523 or Z623 be a noticeable improvement?

u/caelebcandon · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Sure no prob.

The speakers are these Logitech ones https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Z623-Speaker-System-Black/dp/B003VAHYTG/ref=sr_1_2

The dual monitor arm is this. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Side-Monitor-Display-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN71I/ref=sr_1_1

Basically just mount it on your desk and mount the VESA mounts to your monitors and you're good to go. You will need a decent amount of clearance in the back of your desk if you want the full range of motion the arms can do; e.g. not good for desks that are pushed up against a wall.

u/simplyclueless · 2 pointsr/amazonecho

How much do you want to spend? For $100, this one has multiple analog 3.5 inputs, so you can run a cable right from the echo dot and a cable right from the PC. Both will work simultaneously.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VAHYTG

Here's a lower-end one for $45, similar functionality. Multiple analog inputs, will allow you to connect both the pc and the echo dot.

It was loud enough for our ceremony and reception of 66 people in a space that can hold up to 100. Now it's installed on my desk in my home office and I love working there with music now.

u/JonStarkaryen998 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I would recommend these because they are seriously amazing for the price and the subwoofer is great but I don't know if you have enough clearance on that monitor for it. Here is mine for reference

u/spyvision · 2 pointsr/IndianGaming

For that budget you could go for this - Logitech Z506

Wait for the Amazon Prime Day Sale! Prices may go down.

Or this Logitech Z623 I know it's listed at 10k but I've seen it for as low as 7,500₹ I think. I've heard it and it's quite impressive!

u/CanORage · 2 pointsr/CrappyDesign

As tempted as I am to say f@#$ Logitech forever for the atrocity that is this model, it looks like one of the top rated 2.1 models under $100 is still theirs: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VAHYTG/ref=emc_b_5_t#customerReviews. It's not as nice looking as the HiVi/Swan M10 you linked but the specs look legit for the price point - solid range, high wattage, THX. I still love my Klipsches, but if I were in the market for a new set with a $100 price cap it'd probably be the Z623.

u/tapsongbong · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I'd Recommend the Klipsch Promedia Speakers, or the Logitech ones

I know there are others, but these are the 2 I like.

Edit: My fiance bought the Logitech one for me, since the Klipsch ones were sold out at the time.

Re-edit: I really like the Logitech one i have now.

u/bakageta · 2 pointsr/buildapc

For a hair over your budget, Logitech's Z623 packs quite a bit more power. The satellites are ~4.75" wide, ~8.5" tall, and ~5" deep at the base. Depending on how you set the bass knob, they can be fairly balanced or extremely bass-heavy. I'd say they're a better value than the Z523's.

u/Xaao · 2 pointsr/audiophile

I have this set of speakers, a few years old now. The power button is acting up lately, esp when I first turn it on, it flickers in and out and sometimes doesnt stabilize for a long time.

I think the subwoffer is fine, just need to replae the two desktop speakers. Can I buy new speakers that would be compatible with my subwoffer? Or will I have to buy a whole new system? If possible link something on newegg/amazon that might work for me? thanks

u/EarthAllAlong · 2 pointsr/audiophile

Hello.

For over a decade I've been using the 200W Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 setup for my computer, and I've finally blown out the subwoofer.

I'm considering just buying another set straight up.

Or, I could get a refurbished version and save a little money.

Or I could try one of these two options.

To my untrained eye, this setup, the Logitech Z623 400 Watt Home Speaker System, 2.1, looks comparable to the klipsch while being half the price.

Or if I wanted to do a similar thing but bigger, I could go with this setup, Logitech Z906 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System.

Am I overlooking anything? How would the klipsch compare to the logitech 2.1 setup? And as a side question, should I be skeptical of the 'refurbished' klipsch?

u/PanchoBarrancas · 1 pointr/audio

Try the Logitech Z623. They sound quite very good and the bass certainly delivers. You can set the bass from relatively balanced to wall shaking. They really shine when watching movies.

u/strategicdeceiver · 1 pointr/audiophile

u/DeliciousGorilla · 1 pointr/battlestations

The Logitech Z623 system I have is only $89 (€72) now on Amazon. I bought them in September of 2016 for $139. And yes, they are worth it! I make bass heavy electronic music and I'm very happy with these speakers/sub.

u/pinellaspete · 1 pointr/buildapc

Sorry for long link.

If music listening or production is your main concern or just want more accurate speakers I'd consider something like

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1076428-REG/mackie_2044030_00_cr4_4_crtv_reference.html

Onboard audio will be fine but if you have acute ears to music you can get a reasonable DAC to add. You can add a sub to these if needed make it a 2.1 system.

Ultimately I decided the z623s sounded great to me and suited my mix of gaming and music.

u/mrteapoon · 1 pointr/battlestations

Are you using these speakers? If so, how are they? I've been thinking about picking them up.

u/klepeis · 1 pointr/buildapc

These speakers by Logitech are the ones I bought this summer and I think they're great, well, amazing for the price. I used them last week for a dinner party and I got a dozen compliments and folks asking where I got them from.

u/Sniper_Joe · 1 pointr/buildapc

I know I don't need a sound card or a DAC/AMP setup, but if my budget allows it (~100$), would I benefit from adding one of them to my system? I'm mainly doing heavy gaming and light music listening through streaming services such as spotify. No audio production of any sorts.

I'm planning a new build that has an Asus Z170-A that has the ALC892 audio codec. My sound comes from a Logitech z623 2.1 system and a pair of Sennheiser Game Ones

u/vapeducator · 1 pointr/synthesizers

Do you intend to play performances for other people? Then you'll need a powered PA speaker for them to hear you well. You can use a powered PA speaker as your monitor for performances and for practice at home. You can also use one to have music at your own parties and events, like movie nights. If you only need to listen to the synth for yourself, then you can use good PC speakers like with this THX certified Logitech Z623 system or studio monitors.

u/sjv7883 · 1 pointr/audiophile

The thing about audio is that it's all subjective. It really just depends on what sounds good to you. I have a nice stereo in my living room that I have about $1700 into. That being said, I was going to give the Logitech z623 computer speakers a whirl pretty soon as I'm piecing together a workstation in my bedroom. It's only $115 for two speakers, a subwoofer, and an amplifier. I don't expect it to be anywhere near as clear or as loud as my real stereo, but from what I've heard it sounds like it's a steal for the price. You just need to find something that meets your needs. Don't be afraid to spend more money, because you can always return things if you find out they're not worth the price.

By "colored 3.5mm jacks" do you mean something that RCA cables plug into? A 3.5mm jack is a "headphone" jack and both left and right are output through one jack; whereas RCA splits the left into the white and the right into the red. RCA and 3.5mm are not interchangeable words, but you can easily go from one to the other with adapters.

Anyways... the RCA jacks are probably your best bet. The TOSLINK output is a digital output and you would need a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to switch the digital signal (being transmitted by the tousling cable) into an analog signal (transmitted usually by RCA cables).

You are right by saying that there are a ton of options. It's something that is very useful when trying to personalize your setup to get exactly what you want, but can be very overwhelming at first.

u/Wanguskohn · 1 pointr/audiophile

When I was at college I had the Logitech Z-2300 for the same purpose music, movies, and youtube videos and things. And they were excellent with great sound. Although you cant buy them anymore I would assume the newer system from them would be similar, These. They would compare to the Klipsch, a buddy of mine on my floor had the klipsch and both were excellent.

u/Dissentient · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

If you want bass, you probably want 2.1 setup for the subwoofer. And since your budget is $100, it's probably better to get a complete set of speakers with amplifier built-in rather than getting speakers and amp separately.

Something like this, basically:

If you want to go higher end than the Z623 something like this might work if you're set on using a 2.1 setup that's powered. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-980-000402-Speaker-System-Black/dp/B003VAHYTG

I plan on upgrading to these if I don't manage to find a good vintage pair and receiver locally within the next few months.

I've been in the market for speakers for playing music + playing guitar / bass. I currently have the following:

  • Scarlett 2i2
  • Logitech Z623 2.1ch

When I'm just listening to music, the speakers sound great! When I add in playing guitar along with the music, there's definitely some loss in quality. The guitar and bass both sound just fine, but not really ideal.

I've been considering ditching the logitech speakers for actual studio monitors paired with a subwoofer, but I'm not 100% whether I need to go this route if I want to play guitar + bass + music all together.

My friend comes over to play the bass as well, so we would be playing simultaneously. I took a trip to GC today and had a listen to a bunch of studio monitors and narrowed down the most pleasing (to my ears) sound to these two monitors:

  • Yamaha HS7
  • Yamaha HS8
  • KRK 10S2

Holy crap the above speakers sounded amazing. The HS7 and HS8 had me in that room for like an hour, switching back and forth between the two. I just couldn't figure out which one I liked better!

Anyways, before I go making a purchase, I wanted to see what others had to say or suggest.

    My budget is 1.5K

Can I use an old Logitech subwoofer with a pair of speakers that does not come with a subwoofer? I'm trying to find new speakers to replace my old 3-piece Logitech speaker set and am not sure which to get. So far I've only really considered ones with a subwoofer such as the Logitech Z623.

u/canuckaway_mcthrow · 1 pointr/audiophile

So... you don't need something hardcore "audiophile" but you want decent controls and some bass.

A Logitech 2.1 system like the Z623 would probably be ideal, then. And that'll only set you back $100 USD.

The Logitech z-623 comes to mind. Very powerful deep bass and detailed treble. They have slightly weak mid-range though. For gaming, they're amazing. For listening to music, they're average.

I currently own Logitech Z623 speakers and the left speaker is about to go out.

I want to know if I should get a new set of speakers (similar to the ones I currently have), or get two new studio monitors for my situation.

Details:

  • I do not mix or create any music myself, but I listen to wide array of genres.
  • I suppose I enjoy a little more bass than most people. I do have my sub from my Z623's. Could I use that with two monitors?
  • my desk is in a medium sized room

Not sure what other details to add. Thanks for any help!

Would a set of Fluance SX6's and a MartinLogan Dynamo 300 Sub sound substantially better and louder than my Logitech Z623 setup? The mids on the logitechs are super bland and the bass is muddy but boomy.
Also, what unit would I need to properly hook up the Fluances and sub to a 1/8" computer out?

It hasn't steered me wrong yet, it also has the bass knob too you were talking about. There's an aux jack in the right speaker and also the sub. It has pretty good clarity with no audible hissing or anything. I'd recommend it! It's not big or clunky, but has some pretty great quality for the size.

Sound bars are meant for people who have a flat screen TV (usually wall mounted) that still want audio from multiple devices and don't have a place to put speakers, or they just don't want to buy an expensive receiver setup.

If you don't have space for speakers then I'm not really sure where you intend on putting a sound bar like the Leviathan as it sits on your desk below the monitor. It's basically a 2.1 setup except someone glued the two stereo speakers together. You could do this yourself if you wanted to, just attach the bases of these two speakers together and you've created a better sounding setup than the Razer Leviathan with all of the same functionality (no RGB or Bluetooth though) and roughly the same footprint. If you must have a sound bar that sits under your monitor for under $100 then there are dozens of options, I just wouldn't suggest any of them as the sound quality is going to be sub-par compared to having a 2.1 setup.

u/DaddyPadawan · 1 pointr/battlestations

Fair enough.

If you ever do upgrade, I would suggest the Logitech Z623. I've been using them for almost two years now, and they are an awesome bang for buck. The price fluctuates at ~$100. Amazon link below.

I disagree with this. I do hours or even days of research for the smallest things I buy.

For example:

-I buy Pilot Precise V5 RT Pens

-Wolverine 6" Boots (They last usually 1.5 - 2 years of daily use, so I usually have to look through what they have each time and see what has replaced what I bought last time, but I've had about 6 pairs now and they have never disappointed me).

-Timex Ironman watches

-Stafford Cotton Crewneck T-shirts XL for under work shirt and XXL for working around the house or outside.

-Lee Dungaree Carpenter Jeans 42x34

-Carhartt Loose Fit Style B159 42x34 Work Pants

If I don't have a precise item it usually falls under a specific set of specifications. I normally go with Logitech speakers with a minimum of 200w Such as these, I've purchased 2 now, 1 for my computer and 1 for the living room TV

I always go with Makita Power Tools Although anyone who's purchased cordless power tools can tell you, once you buy your first one you are kind of locked into whatever is compatible with that battery unless you want to replace all of them or have 10 different battery chargers at your workbench.

What I'm saying is that men have the same pitfalls as women when it comes to shopping. The reason I think you see men have less stress over it is because when we find something, we will hunt to find it again when we need more, we know what we like, and fashion be damned for many of us.

My wife always calls me stuck in my ways, but I think of it as going with what I know works. Function should always trump form in my mind.

All that being said, I would not want to have to navigate the things women buy. I get annoyed enough that sometimes shoes between brands are off (I might wear a 13 in one brand and a 14 in another). Or pant sizes are a size off between companies (that's why when I find a brand I like, I stick with it, so I know exactly what I need.)

TL:DR Research before you buy (a LOT of research). Once you find something that works, stick with it for as long as it does its job to your expectations. And finally. To make shopping easier try REALLY hard not to be a woman, because the companies that cater to them are batshit insane.

The Logitech Z623($139 Amazon Prime) is what I have used for a while now, both in an apartment as well as my house.

These speakers are louder than you need for an apartment and have amazing clarity from the high end to the lower end spectrum of sound.

I would recommend these over using car speakers as they are properly tuned and powered.

u/TheNewGuyToReddit · 1 pointr/gadgets

Personally I don't think you can get great 7.1 surround sound for that low of a cost. If you want quality for yourself I would suggest a nice pair of JBL headset. Otherwise if you really want something that is loud and has great quality I would go with a pair of Logitech Speakers. Such as the z623. I have had mine for about a year and I can hear them in the next apartment they have super quality, but the only downside is it's only a left, right and sub woofer. Everything plugs into the sub woofer; and you can add more speakers later on. I don't know how or what works with compatibility, but it has an option.

I have both of these, the 2.1 channel speakers are in my dorm and the 5.1 channel speakers are in my bedroom. Perfect for listening to music, gaming, movies, tv, etc. The 2.1 channel speakers are more then enough to fill a room with sound if your having people over. Highly recommend them however if your a movie guy and like your surround sound, it is well worth the extra money for the extra channels.

Get a 560 Ti FPB from Amazon (won't need 2GB of RAM even for dual monitors, since you're not rendering 3D across both at the same time), plus an Antec HCG 750w from Newegg, and you have about $100 more to work with, after the rebates come in.

$150 will get you a solid speaker system, or a solid monitor, or you can get a fancy case, if you like.

You can also get 8GB of RAM for $50 AR.

Edit: This 23-inch ASUS is also $150 AR.

u/Fhorglingrads · 1 pointr/realdubstep

They're actually one of the suggestions on the page, but I bought these and absolutely love them for the price (check Newegg, they're usually $30-$40 cheaper). Great for shaking my apartment and pissing off roommates.

Logitech Z623

Those. You can't go wrong at the price point really. Of course there are much much better speakers systems out there but for under $150 I think these are the best and will work great for casual listening and also as a speaker system for a PC or television.

u/Stief21774 · 1 pointr/PS4

I would recommend getting the Logitech Z623 Speaker System and plugging them into the headphone jack of the TV.

The TV will convert the digital audio from the PS4 or any other digital input into analog audio and send it to the speakers. Also, there are no extra configuration changes when switching between PS4 and TV. You just need to use the TV remote.

I live in a small apartment and wanted nice audio but didn't want surround sound. I have the older Logitech Z2300 speakers plugged into my TV and they're great. They sound good, easy to setup, don't take up a lot of space, and not too expensive.

EDIT: If you want to prove that this setup will work, you can plug any device with HDMI out (DVD Player, Game Console, Laptop, etc.) into the TV and then plug in some cheap headphones or PC speakers into the TV's headphone jack and see how well it works.

u/Bcarey1233 · 1 pointr/gadgets

Id suggest getting the K70 keyboard tbh.
i have the K90 and i can say i hardly use the macro functions on keyboard. i always do macros on my mouse instead because its easier to press.

then id get a better mouse, like corsair M65 or something. (deathadders break like crazy lol)

Brainwashing though. They pay THX money to get the certificate so they can charge more.

I presented you a review of one of the best TV reviewing sites in the web. In-depth. If you want to pay more for nothing, that's your decision. Just wanted to (seriously) help.

Even cheap (!) sound sytems get a THX certificate...Do you really want to say that these THX-certified speakers blow a $1000 system out of the water? Just because a certificate? Probably not even a same priced sound system. Because they didn't have to pay for a certificate. Same with TVs.

Logitech z623 again and again.

I was in a similar situation where I just got the wifey ok for the controller but couldn't spend $300+ on speakers for bedroom DJing.

Got the Logitech z623 for $120 and holy crap are these things loud. The sub woofer has excellent thump to it. Best inexpensive speakers imo

I have my setup in the garage and it sounds great. I've brought the setup to a bachelor party and played for 20+ people and it was plenty loud. The subwoofer is a bit bulky but to be expected.

That polk is a bottom of the barrel sub. Probably the cheapest priced sub sold for the last 5 years. I have heard many people that have had good subs say it is sloppy and blunt and underwhelming. I have seen response graphs and it is a bit of a one trick pony with a big lump at ~70hz and rolls away above and below which is where you want better flat response.

I rarely trust reviews on amazon. Just look at the ratings of these

A donation is just fine, I have started building speaker cables (7'pair 9ga for $75) as a sort of "Zeos Shop" way to say thanks and still give you something. (didn't think T-shirts would go over too well). Postcards are cool too!

I'm going to college soon and I wanted to get some good speakers for my dorm room. I'm into EDM and I've confirmed my roommate is too, so I want really good quality ones with great bass.

My friend got the Logitech Speaker System Z623 and I was very impressed when I heard them. I want something like those, but I'd rather not have the $100+ price tag. I mean if I really have to, I'll get those, but I'd rather not spend that much.

I was looking at the Z523 and the Z506, but I guess they aren't as good. But is the difference noticeable?

I asked my friend and he said a good way to tell the quality of a system is the frequency range. And I guess the more watts, the better bass.

If anyone could recommend some good ones for a good price I'd be grateful. Thanks!

If you have $130 I would highly recommend the Logitech Z623. I've had them for 2 years and the bass is amazing. It has a bass knob so you can adjust it to whatever you like but it'll get loud enough to shake your entire room. It's loud enough for any apartment or house party.

For the edifiers and the miccas you would need a speaker amp to power the speakers. The pair with Bluetooth are self powered, meaning the amp is built into the speaker. The last link looks kinda... Bad. In the specs, it lists 7.5 watt speakers in the monitors, so they probably distort around 4 watts.

what is your budget? and do you want something that is REALLY LOUD, or just louder than what you currently have?

ive only heard the corsairs briefly as i returned them after about 3 days cause they were not impressive at all to me.

i started with something similar to the x-530's, may have even been those but it was years ago so i dont remember for sure, and tried out the corsairs and a few others in that price range and none of them were what i wanted (loud, annoyingly loud really, good bass and overall quality sound at any volume). i settled on the logitech z623 system eventually and it is actually a really nice little system for the price. not sure if the UK price is similar, but for $115 i dont think you will find a better solution. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-980-000402-Speaker-System-Black/dp/B003VAHYTG/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&srs=2529810011&ie=UTF8&qid=1450292811&sr=1-1

those lasted me a good 2 years before i got the itch to upgrade significantly. and about $2,000 later i am happy once again lol

the z623's were very impressive though, i tried out several speakers when replacing them and i couldnt find a replacement i was happy with under $1,000. thats how good they are for the price.

If you don't really care too much for accuracy but want something loud and fun with a thundering bass response that you could use for movies or even parties, you could check out the Logitech Z623.

I put a pair of these in my college apartment living room because my roommate's TV doesn't sound good and it gets the job done but I keep the sub level at 50% or lower and turn the main volume up because the bass can get overwhelming. Total 200w RMS, 400w peak.

Whenever we invite people over, they like it since it has RCA and 3.5mm inputs so they can plug their phones into an aux cord and play their music without having to deal with the TV. Again, these aren't audiophile, accurate speakers but just something loud, crisp, and cheap.

If you go new, they're a little over your budget at $119 on Amazon. Refurb, some of them are showing at $88.
