Used Book in Good Condition
I got lots of inspiration from /r/travel and /r/backpacking, and also did research with Wikivoyage and general googling of stuff to see and do in (x) country. Before I left I bought the Lonely Planet Southeast Asia on a Shoestring and had that for some reference while I traveled. It wasn't useful enough to justify the weight and space it occupied, but it did come in handy a couple times.
Along the way I also found issues of Southeast Asia Backpacker Magazine in travel agencies, and they had some good features on places to check out (as well as a very useful guide in the back to each country's exchange rate and time zone and greeting & etc.)
