Can you email support from the manufacturer and ask how to clean? Or there are those wand things you can get to clean vases and wine glasses that you make be able to put between the panels, like this: https://www.amazon.com/Cleaning-Kombucha-Decanter-Flexible-Household/dp/B07FS7J7PN

Whatever you do, don’t take the glass apart. Can’t remember where I saw it, but someone had taken apart the door to clean in between glass panels and when they put it back together made a mistake along the way. When they went to use it again, it exploded.

ALL a/c units gets mold. That just means it needs to be cleaned, its not a reason to throw it away. Air conditioners are not a seasonally disposable item, so the person telling you to throw it out is giving terrible advice, not to mention throwing out an a/c for something as easily remedied as mold growth, is such a wasteful and unnecessary alternative to simply cleaning it. A/c units are supposed to be cleaned regularly. You can absolutely hire a service to do it, or you can do it yourself.

There are lots of articles and videos online that go over the process of cleaning and disinfecting window A/C's. Here are some tips I can give you from experience cleaning my a/c's:

Get a few cans of coil cleaner a detail cleaning brush kit, new filters that fit your specific model of AC, and get microbial growth inhibitor tablets to use in the condensor tray after you've finished cleaning it and are putting it back together.

You can do the cleaning/rinsing of the AC in the bathtub (this video gives a step by step breakdown of how to take apart and clean all the components). I do the cleaning in a few steps after taking apart the ac: vacuum all the different parts to remove as much dust/etc as possible, use a brush to remove as much grime from the coils as possible, then rinse everything with water after to remove anything left that is stuck on. Then put the foaming coil cleaner on the coils and leave it on there for the recommended amount of time, rinsing after. Then i basically do what is outlined in the video above. The last step is disinfecting it fully, which shouldnt be done until the unit is as clean as you can possibly get it via soap/water/scrubbing/rinsing. Get a spray bottle and fill it with a 1:10 dilution of bleach:water (page 2 of this info sheet has a 1:10 dilution measuring chart). Spray it on everything, leave it on for 10 full minutes (time required to kill mold, dont hang out in the room during this time bc of bleach fumes, just leave and come back when its time to rinse everything off). Rinse, maybe some more scrubbing with soap and water, then let everything dry (i use a hairdryer on low/no heat and high speed setting to speed up drying time).

Yeah its an annoying process to clean it but its insane and incredibly wasteful to throw away something like that just because its dirty. All ACs need maintaining. If you don't want to do it yourself, look up AC/HVAC maintenance services in your area and call them up to ask if they offer window AC cleaning services , and get quotes from several companies.
