I'd place the sofa against the 7'7" wall and get a rug that can help divide the space. TV on the opposite 5'8 wall (if you have one), and one or two small armchairs or accent chairs beneath for company. I agree with the other poster that the coffee table isn't ideal, but mostly because it's more chunky furniture. I would go for something glass-topped that doesn't look bulky. Maybe something like this (you can fit two ottomans for sitting underneath as well). I store an extra chair on my kitchen wall like this.
As for the other half of the room, I'd consider a small dining set with an extendable table that can be pushed against the wall when not in full use. Something like this or this.
