I mean, honestly, I would like something like this that allows you to hotswap the layout of all 4 components.

In the current gen, I think the PS4 controller is the most comfortable and has the best buttons, but the XB1 has the best control sticks and the most practical layout, but I love the WiiU pro for classic games because using the DPad and the buttons makes it feel like a SNES controller.

This thing costs $90!. And they say PC gaming is too expensive...

you may want to get a hori pad. or a good arcade stick. those both rarely break. hori's gamepads are especially good and feel like the oldschool cross dpads.

As for sticks Madcatz TE, Hori, and PDP would be the ones you might want.

I don't know about the quality of these but there are definitely options out there is you search. Here are a few I found.

A more expesive, but MLG endorsed one. I think I saw this at Gamestop for cheaper too though.

I've had both and prefer the xbox controller. I have a musculoskeletal disorder that prevents me from using controllers like the PS4 style with the analog in the middle on the left side.

This is literally the only reason I didn't keep my Steam controller.

I'm still hoping for a new Steam controller that has interchangeable controls, like this from MadCatz.

Unfortunately, they don't. :(

They actually make higher quality controllers than first party in some cases.

Those ones cost a pretty penny because they are officially licensed by MLG. But it just shows that they are capable of quality if professionals use them.

They make controllers that are flipped anyway, fuck they make them interchangeable now too.
