The cookbook that popularized the phenomenon, is called Manifold Destiny
I perused this back in college. Haven't tried it, but it sounds like fun.
You can cook complete meals on your engine, if you need help in learning to do so Manifold Destiny can teach you how to do it.

It was written by Chris Maynard and Bill Scheller, a photographer and a travel writer who were also accomplished rally drivers.
