It's an essay in a book called [Marihuana: Reconsidered] (https://www.amazon.com/Marijuana-Reconsidered-Grinspoon/dp/0932551130)

I recommend Marihuana Reconsidered by Lester Grinspoon. It includes an essay by Carl Sagan, but you can just read that part online.

You have to remember how to enjoy it. In Lester Grinspoon's book, Marihuana Reconsidered, he spends the majority of one of the chapters discussing how learning to enjoy the effects of cannabis are a roadblock for many people. I'm sure that if it was fun once, you'll remember how it can be fun again.

Almost all of the information you need can be found at NORML

Also, for a hard book source to pull from, use Dr. Lester Grinspoon's Marihuana Reconsidered, an incredibly holistic view of the marijuana issue from all sides: political, economical, historical, medical, chemical, and social. Includes first-hand accounts from Mr. X, who was later confirmed to be none other than Grinspoon's long time friend and collaborator, Carl Sagan (amazing astrophysicist, look him up if you haven't heard of him).

EDIT: Good luck with your project!

I'm currently reading Marihuana Reconsidered by Lester Grinspoon. It's old (but surprisingly up to date), about trees, and written by an expert in psychiatry. Sounds right up your alley.

I don't know if there is an electronic version available, but all smokers who are serious about the truths behind the medicinal qualities as well as any damaging effects of cannabis should check out Marijuana Reconsidered.

I do have sources.

If you want a long read about the effects of cannabis on driving that comes from the US Department of Transportation, it can be found here. The bottom line is that in the real world, cannabis smokers aren't any worse at driving than anyone else.

For some erudite writing that I go to often, check out the essay Carl Sagan wrote for Marihuana Reconsidered. You can find just the essay here. Note that it was originally written under a pseudonym and Grinspoon did not reveal that "Mr. X" was Sagan until after the great scientist's death.

NORML.org's research library can function as a one-stop shop for your research requirements.

An important point that you should not overlook is that alcohol becomes deadly at a very low multiplier of the effective dose, while to smoke a toxic amount of cannabis you'd die of smoke inhalation first.
