For once the BBFC had nothing to do with the cut. I believe what we are getting is a general Euro release and the cuts have come from Germany.
What really sucks is the removal of the Joss Whedon commentary and deleted scenes in the extras, there's probably more missing from it.
So fuck you Disney.

EDIT: the differences between US 2-disc and UK/Eire Blu-ray.

US version:

  • 1 Blu-ray and 1 DVD Disc
  • Audio Commentary by Director Joss Whedon
  • “Assembling the Ultimate Team”
  • “A Visual Journey”
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Marvel One-Shot: Item 47
  • Second screen
  • Gag reel
  • Soundgarden music video - “Live to Rise”
  • the tip of Loki's staff when he penetrates Coulson.

    UK & Ireland version

  • 1 Blu-ray (the 2 disc isn't available)
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Gag Reel
  • Marvel One-Shot: item 47
  • A Visual Journey

The Avengers:

DVD - 17 dollars

Blu-Ray - 25 dollars

Paper's please (with endless mode) - 10 dollars

Seems fair to me.

Why on earth did I do that?

i lose track of my car keys almost every day. i keep a small dish near the door, but i always forget to leave them there so they always end up somewhere hidden away.

my daughters and i would really like to watch the avengers again.

Interesting. Like I said, it was a guess; I can't find any concrete info on why it's titled like that, but it is the only Marvel movie with "Marvel's" at the front.

It's onscreen at the end of the film, on digital listings for rental/purchase and the trailers, and and on the cover of the Blu Ray. From what I can tell, the posters at the time are the only official material that refer to it as just "The Avengers".
