It's not a bad controller. I have two of them that I use with RetroArch on my Amazon Fire TV.

My wife and I just got Go's for a long flight, mostly to use with emulators and movies.

I'm using an xbox one s bluetooth that I had already and I just got her this one for only $12

Both work great, all in what you want to spend. Xbox one s is obviously more solid but there's nothing wrong with the other, it's actually made by the same folks who did the pads for Game Sir.

I'm using a Metricom G-Pad XYBA Bluetooth game pad for $18 on Amazon. Works perfect so far.

u/black_shirt · 2 pointsr/GearVR
u/JasperSlade · 2 pointsr/RetroPie

I picked up 2 of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EO5QPN2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I was looking exclusively for bluetooth controllers because I didn't want to mess with cables at all. These were on sale for $9.99 when I purchased them, but they're obviously worth more. They feel sturdy & well built. Their battery life is pretty good too.
These controllers have different "modes", depending on whether you're connecting it to an Apple or Android device. Holding the "B" button while powering on will allow the Pi to see it.

I'm duplicating my setup for my younger brothers and a few friends, I'll be purchasing 2 of these controllers for each of those builds for sure.

u/Koadic76 · 2 pointsr/GoogleCardboard

From what I have read on this reddit, your best bet is probably a BoboVR z4/Virtoba x5/(insert clone here) which is around $40 on Amazon, as it will support phones with screens up to 6 inches.

It includes a capacitive button for Cardboard apps, but you will still need a controller for other apps that require one. I picked up one of these for $10 on sale ($15 now) and it works pretty well... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EO5QPN2/

I have my Mi Box laid out with a ton of EMUs & ROMs via external storage. Works great with this controller.

After an initial struggle getting it set up and working properly, I gotta say I'm really happy with the Matricom XYBA. Can be had from Amazon for $22. Given the price, I'm pleasantly surprised by the build quality. It's solid, got some weight to it, and while I've only had mine for a few weeks weeks so far the buttons and analog sticks feel just like they did when it was brand new.

The initial struggle setting it up with RetroPie came down to finding this review on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/review/B01EO5QPN2/R2B6DAP4EI7TQG/ref=cm_cr_dp_mb_rvw_1

After following those steps and customizing gamepad.cfg accordingly, everything has been working great. Once paired, it will reconnect in a few seconds from powering up. And this is all with the on-board Bluetooth on the RPi 3 by the way. At under $25 per controller, you can afford to get a decent four-player setup.

u/kaspar14 · 1 pointr/RetroPie

I got this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EO5QPN2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It was easy to connect and setup, and works perfectly with my rasp pi 3.

u/Black3ird · 1 pointr/Steam

For most compatibility what you need to seek is "XInput" which is XBox native support for non-XBox controllers on Windows (another M$ product). Rest of controllers are emulated to Xbox input by use of software (not drivers most of the time).

Adding Bluetooth on top of that narrows it even more since there are not many. Your linked controller has reviews saying it is DInput (older type) which means support/compatibility with latest games is even more less.

Yet Steam Overlay (aka Steam Input) enables Generic Controllers to emulate too and it is not always a success unlike direct XInput. Steam Beta constantly update Steam Input to fix those unsuccessful trials.

So try to read/research more on the subject to get an informed purchase.

Yeah, I specifically purchased a blue tooth controller for it. Your PlayStation 4 one may work. I ended up buying this one.

u/BlackDave · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I've given up on using the DS3 and DS4. My Galaxy s7 doesn't recognize either and my Asus tablet freezes and reboots when I plug in a DS4. I bought this controller instead and it works great for Android, PC and PS3. I haven't tried it on the S7 yet but it works perfect on my tablet.

u/shredtilldeth · 1 pointr/GoogleCardboard

I have a G3, a slightly older version of this controller and the Bobo Z4. It's an AMAZING setup, given what it is. QVR (Quake VR) is one of the coolest things you can do with it, since it's a fully fledged actual game that you can play. Don't waste your time with those piddly small controllers. They are all pretty much garbage.

u/n64WasAnInsideJob · 1 pointr/emulation

Matricom sells the g3s for much much cheaper ($20USD). they just call it the G-Pad XYBA.

The price changes around, I got this controller for $15 a few days ago.

u/thec0re3 · 1 pointr/fireTV

It only supports version 2 of the controller. I never found any work around. Just went ahead and purchased a controller that was compatible. Not a great digital pad but the analog is pretty good. The model I bought doesn't seem to be currently available but I believe this one is compatible and its the same company https://www.amazon.com/Matricom-Rechargeable-Bluetooth-Controller-Compatible/dp/B01EO5QPN2?ref_=bl_dp_s_web_2596213011

I use the Shield TV controller and this cheap Bluetooth controller.

u/John_Barlycorn · -14 pointsr/ShieldAndroidTV

I hate that controller. It seems designed to make me accidentally press one of the multiple touch sensitive non-game buttons that's close the game and lose my progress mid-game.

I much prefer this I got for $22
