MS recently announced that some retailers, including Amazon, will be offering digital game purchases. So far there are only a couple games available. It's just a code, so you could give to someone.

Now for when they will do this for all titles, I don't know when or if they will.

Oh I won a contest on a game review site and got 2 codes. I haven't bought a digital game through a retailer I just know they're out so if he can't buy games that aren't physical, maybe in the future retail stores will have all games digitally. Something like this.

Although the last one doesn't really count. They also have a bunch of season passes on sale too.

There are a couple of digital codes on sale on amazon. Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is one. I think there might be a couple other. And right now there are a bunch of codes on eBay, because a bunch of people who bought bundles are selling off the games that came with them.

But the majority of the titles are only available through the Xbox store.
