I have a similar problem. Stop doing any exercise that bothers it. Seriously, it won't get better unless you do and you will lose more progress by not letting it heal. Get an elbow sleeve for when you exercise, and one of those big ice wraps that are meant for knees and use it every day.

Fellow tendonitis in the left elbow sufferer here. Three things have helped me to where I'm consistently about 90% functional:

  1. Flexible: Joint Formula - 4 caps 2x/day for first two weeks, then try 1x a day. Bump it back up if necessary.

  2. An elbow compression sleeve. I wear this religiously and it really helps keep the elbow tight during movements that normally make the issue flare up. I use this one

  3. Make sure you keep your elbow tucked into your body during any pulling/pressing movements and never go heavy on the biggest offenders. If you want to go heavy, make sure you ramp the weight up gradually over at least 3-4 sets. In my case this means exercises like barbell overhead press, dips, wide grip lat pulldowns (I can only do these with palms facing each other or towards me), pullups (same thing as pulldowns), skullcrushers (elbows in and TIGHT), close grip bench, etc. Just be mindful of your movements.

    I have not tried foam rolling or anything like that yet though I imagine it can be helpful for some.

I suffer from medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow) which mostly flares up with pulling movements like pullups and chin-ups. Among other things I've thrown at it (mobilization, massage, various anti-inflammatories), I use elbow sleeves. A little bit of compression helps (or seems to). I wear them daily in the gym, so they are on for Olympic lifts, though those lifts aren't the things that aggravate my tendonitis the most. However, I have to say that the most relief I've gotten has come from dietary changes. When I cut out grains and dairy completely, the tendonitis pain almost completely disappeared. Your mileage may vary on that, but I think that whatever anti-inflammatory benefits I got from those changes to my diet paid off the most in my gimpy elbows.

I posted in response to a Tomoe Nage once and screwed my elbow up good.

I even had to wear it while working as a meat cutter for a while.
