  1. Yeah meal prep probably isn't for you if you aren't going to be able to overcome the hatred of left overs. What about leftovers don't you like?

  2. The black plastic containers are dishwasher safe, microwave and freezer safe. These ones seem to hold up well and I've been really happy with them.

  3. I do nothing special to seal them to store them in the fridge, I just put the lid on.

  4. If you do pasta you could have a container of the pasta and put your sauce in a mason jar. Add the sauce and then microwave. Otherwise rice is great for meal prepping.

  5. I hate eating the same thing every day too so I cook at least two different kinds of meals for 4 days. The containers I linked can be frozen so if you made bulk you can freeze. It might take a few weeks to get a good stash going but then you'll have a ton of options. As for freezing things, I've heard to stay away from things that have a high water content (whole tomatoes don't freeze well but tomato sauce freezes fine).

  6. If you're prepping a lot of food it can take a few weeks to get the hang of things. I think the most important thing for my meal prep to go smoothly is mise en place: "everything in it's place". Before I cook I pre-measure seasonings, wash and cut veggies, marinade/cut the proteins and get my containers out and set on the kitchen island. This makes the process quicker because I'm not running around my kitchen while food is cooking looking for all my ingredients.

Oh.. and I like wearing shoes when I meal prep because standing and walking around the kitchen makes my feet tired haha

Yeah man! Gotta eat something green daily, right? Spinach sounds good! Throw a little cheese, tomato on, mix it up a bit! I like to keep it basic, nothing too complex, or I'll get sick of it.

I figure they'll last a good while if I'm not heating in them too much. They freeze well and i figure if i get ten uses out of each it's under a dime per meal cost. Not bad!
