You can't go wrong with Microsoft or Logitech. I myself have a Logitech K800, I love this thing. Then for a mouse I have a Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse, another amazing product. Both look sleek and sexy, function well, and haven't had any problems. Though it is over your budget, I would really recommend it.

Okay, I like Microsoft and provides jobs for like half the jobs in my hometown, but your comparison is extremely biased and bad. No one can argue that Apple makes more expensive products than Microsoft, but if you want to bias it like that:

Microsoft brand Wireless Keyboard + Microsoft Arc Touch mouse = $139.93

I'd say the arc mouse is equivalent to the Apple mouse, even though there are more expensive Microsoft mice out there.

Until you said gaming, I was going to recommend you this one.

If you're going to be gaming, I'd recommend one from a gaming company, like Razer, Steelseries, Logitech, Roccat, etc. Microsoft and Monoprice also have good offerings.

If you want to be more frugal, try this Mazer from E-3lue. Is it good? I have no idea. But the reviews are good, and E-3lue makes this Cobra wired gaming mouse which is pretty much unanimously praised online as the best thing since the original Razer Diamondback despite being less than $10.

This should really be a thing and combine it with this technology.

looking at the specs, they don't seem to be very different at all, perhaps the newer one (which I assume is the more expensive one) has some minor improvements.

Some companies have deals and you make a great point about Apple but for the most part. Manufactures websites are heavily overpriced. Like at Wal-Mart you can get a 17 inch HP laptop for about $500. The most comparable laptop at HP.com with similar specs is $800.

the trick is to use bids you never bought. i saw quibids, signed up, forgot about it, then on my birthday got a few free bids. i tried it out and won the mouse i am using (this one) for 3 cents. 7 dollars for shipping, but still cheap.

Its $40, it has a tiny usb connector, it folds up nicely, when it is in its usable position it is large enough for my fairly large hands.
