I see your point and I raise you this
This MS item folds flat when not in use and is BT compatible with 8.1. I do like the cool inventions MS makes, and I'd rather have these types of things rather than (never updated) apps like snapchat.

Great mouse. You can find it cheaper though. This is just the particular one that I bought.
Don't really need one: the Surface Edition mice (yes, that is how they are branded) do not have any USB connectivity, a selling point for a device that has only one USB port.
There are a few different breeds of these mice, it seems. This is (I believe) the exact unit pictured. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FG7MZP0
EDIT: I'd like to report that there are, indeed, screws at the indicated spots on this mouse. You were correct there. That said, I'm still not the one who punched a screwdriver through a $70 device: my coworker made that mistake.
Hello everyone!
I had been wanting to post my edc for school and felt since the semester is almost over, now would be a great time. I am a computer science major and have been carrying this with me for several months now. Also, pls excuse the obvious line down the middle - i merged two seperate pictures together. So here is my edc from L>R, T>B.
I do carry all of this with me. It's not too heavy as I've tried to minimize the weight of the items I did decide I wanted to carry.
Some bonus pics are below:

The Microsoft Arch Touch Mouse Surface Edition has a touch wheel and folds up (turns off). The top of the mouse touch thing does page up, and the bottom half does page down. Double tap the middle to act as a middle mouse button. No side buttons or anything, but I really like it!
For my 16", I'm using this keyboard which I just bought for this device: Logitech K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard (Dark Grey) (920-007558) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0148NPH9I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_SbvqybWV8CGZT
I'm using this mouse too, which I already had from my Surface 3: Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FG7MZP0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FdvqybT80JH42
The one you linked is USB, but they make a Bluetooth version, what you want is the Arc Mouse Surface Edition. I've used this for a couple years and it works great. Not the most ergonomic thing but nicer than a flat puck.
Some cool tricks/features in the list /u/Colt4587 listed. Here's a few more:
Sure, no problem.
But just to clarify, no, Amazon sells the keyboard only for $20.00 less than the asking price I am asking for both items, here's a link to the second item I have listed there in my comment that you may have missed.

edit: oh, and thank you for down voting me up there.

Love this device. Battery lasts forever. Occasionally have to snap it closed then open again because the scroll sensor gets stuck, but you can't beat it's portability, comfort, and performance.
Yeah but they both said bluetooth, one is the Surface edition, and the other says bluetooth mouse, oh well, I just ordered this one for $43.68 shipped:

I thought about the dock, but then i'll have to keep taking it out of the case, plus I'm always working. If the case isn't comfortable then i'll prolly get the dock; I was looking at the wireless display adapter what do you think of that?
if you want total sleek with no bulk in pocket consider the Microsoft Arc SE mouse. I am using right now, it is sleek.

uses BT so no dongles to clog your USB port. The pictures on Amazon do not show it well, but it folds completely flat.

Folds flat for portability but feels like a full size mouse in use.
