I've had a similar feel about Miles (not to mention his general lack of a personality).
But then I read this novel about him Marvel just put out by Jason Reynolds (https://www.amazon.com/Miles-Morales-Spider-Man-Marvel-Novel/dp/148478748X) and it seriously needs to be the basis for anything Miles-related Marvel does going forward. The focus on his family and community and friends, the character and realness of their voices, his day to day life. It's really everything I hoped the character could be.
