I've had it for two years now no issues with the velcro on the case. The string thing that goes around the battery case is the only thing close to breaking but that's a $2 fix if that. It also has a pocket on the inside for you to put the pen and any small accesories like a usb
Haha good call on the shipping sleeve as a temporary solution. I saw that bit about the 11" fitting in the 10.5" leather sleeve with the folio cover as well.
