For $100 more, you can get an MSI Prestige. This comes with 50% more cores, a 1650 and Thunderbolt 3.

I guess few months. Some are already here, like the MSI Prestige 14 - I7-10710U (6cores/12threads), GTX 1650 MQ

As I was going through your post my mind went to two options this MSI Prestige 15 and this MSI P65 Creator both check almost everything on your list (except the numpad), they both have great screen with 100% sRGB coverage, very good CPU/GPU for your usage, 16GB ram like you wanted, 15.6 full HD IPS screen, within your budget, and I agree with the other comment 1 or 2 bad experiences with a brand shouldn't drive you away from the brand completely especially since both models have been getting great reviews, with that said if MSI is a complete no no to you then how about thisEluktronics mech g2 because it has great combination between value for money, weight, battery life, and performance, and with the current sale it is well within your budget, here is a small review of it :

  • It comes with GTX 1660Ti GPU and it will run the mentioned games smoothly, You can check the below link to see how the GTX 1660Ti GPU (scroll down for the FPs and settings expected or ctrl+f then type the name of your game).

    https://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1660-Ti-Laptop-Graphics-Card.386426.0.html

  • The outer shell is made almost entirely out of metal.
  • Keyboard is mechanical with RGB backlit.
  • It has 3 USB type A, Ethernet, and mic and headphone jack and on the back an HDMI, and USB type C.

  • Screen is IPS with 144Hz refresh rate, with impressively small bezels, and a professional design.

  • Lid can't be open with one hand.

  • Fans get loud under intensive work, but that is normal with every good gaming laptop.

  • Plenty of upgrade options as the chassis supports up to 32GB of ram, and 2 SSDs and 1 HDD.
  • Heat management is great, it can get hot but it gets cool again pretty quickly once the fans kick in.

  • Main con of the laptop is the trackpad, it is mediocre at best when you compare it to other laptops in the price range.

  • Battery life during normal usage is around 3.5-4.5 hours and 1.5 hour during gaming.

  • Speakers are down facing so during gaming, it is best to wear headphone since the fan gets loud during gaming as well.

Not sure about QC issues now (in the past, yes, QC has been an issue), as for cooling, basically all thin and light, non-gamer design laptops are going to throttle to an extent. Perhaps, though a newer option, the MSI Prestige 15 could fit your needs.

Here is the post I tried to make previously but it was snagged by the automod. Hopefully it works this time. I copied links from previous mod posts so I have no idea why it wouldn't work.

From what I've found, there are very limited options for laptops with decent dedicated graphics cards + large WH batteries. I mostly use my laptop while traveling and outlets can be hard to come by. You do get a few options at the top end of your price range:

gigabyte Aero 15 (https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-AERO-15-Classic-YA-U96ASP-i9-9980HK/dp/B07QS8T7HM) and MAG-15 (https://www.amazon.com/Eluktronics-MAG-15-GeForce-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B07X6MJ4X7). both have 90+ Wh batteries and 'slim' form factors.

Similarly, reduced specs but better batter life gets you into MSI prestige 15 range (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WLTLDKN/) which can do some light gaming as well. It's slightly more affordable but in-depth reviews have been slow to roll out. Also, the Dell Vostro and Dell XPS laptops come with GTX1650 max-q cards and H series processors + Large batteries. I'm personally looking at this one because I don't need the 4k screen on the $1800 version but you might be interested in that.

I placed an order from this seller Tuesday evening and received tracking on Wednesday with a scheduled delivery on Friday which is NewEgg's release date. I'll update when I get the package.
