While it is older, I recently picked up and have fallen in love with Murach's C# 2015. Lots of great examples, code samples, and tables/charts.

Most of the book is written with the right page being charts/tables and the left page being instructional text that accompanies the charts/tables.

Totally understand that and applaud it! One of the books I wish I could have gone back and read before getting deep into C# is Murach's C# ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1890774944/ ). It's fairly thick, but good examples that you'll actually use in real life. I'm at a loss for any recent books in Xamarin -- there wasn't much before Microsoft took over the project, and since most of the information is only online (that I know of). Starting here on some of the exercises may be a good place: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/xamarin/#pivot=xamarin-forms ! Good luck!
