No I think you misunderstood, I've used several different whey protein powders, and they've all mixed in with my oatmeal just fine.

That said, maybe it's because you're using a cheaper type of whey, like a concentrate or a blend, and that's why it's not mixing up well? The ones I use are always pure isolates. These are the ones I've used that are reliably good:

Jay Robb Whey

Legion Whey

Muscle Feast

If you can do whey given your lactose intolerance, I recommend Muscle Feast, it has great clinical testing scores on labdoor and tastes great: https://www.amazon.com/Grass-Fed-Whey-Protein-Isolate/dp/B01M24HMVF?th=1. If you want a plant-based product, I think Orgain tastes great. It has a little more fillers than I want for my personal diet right now (i.e., it's 150 calories a serving with plenty of carbs, etc.) --but if you're bulking and want a plant based option maybe that's a good choice for you. I'm not sure if they have labdoor scores.
