I am lactose intolerant. This is your friend. Taste great and doesn't want to make me want to go kill myself after drinking it. I only drink chocolate though, all the other flavors taste like balls.

You could try carnivor, it's a beef protein isolate blend. The taste is alright, but nothing special - it makes me fart a weird amount though.

From the reading and research I've done, getting grass-fed protein is a waste of money.

If you want to stay whey, Optinum Nutrition is going to give you the best bang for your. They are consistently voted the best protein by bodybuilder.com. I enjoy the Double Chocolate, but I hear good things about Vanilla.

I've been using MuscleMed Carnivor the past 6 months, its a beef protein isolate and I really like it. The chocolate has a great flavor and I drink it with just water.

what are you using the protein for? Meal replacement or as a post-workout supplement? If you're trying to get more protein in your diet, your much better off trying to get through whole unprocessed foods.

Yeah, definitely sounds like intolerance as opposed to an allergy. I'm allergic to whey and my throat starts to close if I have something with the smallest amount of it.

Anyway, I went with this beef protein and love it. In addition I would supplement my diet with clif builder bars, which are soy-based but still have around 20g of protein.

Amazon has decent reviews, a 4 or higher is good IMO. the only issue I can point out with it is that it may foam up, but I don't mind it.

Since you said dairy free OR vegan, I would suggest Carnivore. It's beef protein powder, rather than whey. Helps if you have a problem with lactose.
